Weekly Top 5

1. Shubman Gill - 269 - Bit of a blockbuster week for the Gujarat captain as he scores 149 runs in two games to grab his first Cricketer of the Week in almost two years. He is now joint 6th on the All Time List alongside Moeen Ali and Joe Root with 11.

2. Jos Buttler - 244 - Identical scores of 57 across his two IPL fixtures this week sees Buttler with his biggest score of the year. Really has used the IPL to dispel his World Cup Critics. Nobody has scored more than his 1141 points since the IPL began.

3. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 239 - The Vaib Train rumbles on after two weeks of lower scores he is back on the 200+ trail with some fierce batting over his two IPL games.

4.Mehidy Hasan Miraz - 163 - Down on last week's score but was still an instrumental cog in Bangladesh's fifth consecutive Test win. He also is now the highest averaging Red Ball Cricketer on our List with 208 and a half points per Test.

5. Harry Brook - 157 - A rather astonishing turn of events where Brook has scored 4% of his weekly score with the bat and 86% of his total with the ball in hand. All points count....despite how unlikely.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 2352 - Still keeps his lead close to half a thousand points despite significant movement below him. Shows no sign of allowing anybody else so much as a look in,

2. Jos Buttler - 1870 - Moves up to his highest position so far. Could the 2024 Cricketer of the Year be mounting a return to the top of the tree?

3. Aiden Markram - 1690 - Those poor scores really have caught up with him. Since the start of the IPL he averages just 56.38 points - about the same as Nicholas Pooran (52.75.) Down to 3rd.

4. Saim Ayub - 1591 - Inactive again this week but holds on to 4th.

5. Simon Harmer - 1524 - Rounds off the first block of County Championship game with his most unimpressive score - 75 - but still manages to move into the Top 5 at the expense of the injured De Kock.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 180.92 (Up from 176.08)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 163.6
3. Simon Harmer- 138.55 (Down from 144.9)

Gll's big score sees hm up 14.48 points to 124.18. For the second week in a row Paul Walter's average drops the most - this week down 11.07 to 63.33.

The final full week of the IPL sees the most points scored since February.

Weekly Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 337 - Running out of things to say now. Has 5 Cricketer of the Week awards in 5 months. For perspective Kane Williamson spent 5 years in our Lists, Steve Smith and Phil Salt have had 3, Pat Cummins have had 2 ....all have won less times.

2. Sam Curran - 213 - Back with a bang in the Blast. Second place just through batting as he eases himself back into full fitness. Frightening scores for someone performing below his full ability.

3. Paul Walter - 199 - Tall Paul started the week in bottom position but has hauled himself into 21st place courtesy of a week where he scored 109 runs across two Blast games. He even took the ball....admittedly earning nothing from it.

4. Shubman Gill - 186 - Was a massive let down on a poor night for Gujarat in the Qualifier. More than made up for it with a century against Rajasthan. Moves up to 6th spot.

5. Simon Harmer- 176 - Basically got this from 2 games having contributed with neither bat nor ball in Friday's game. T20 isn;t his natural format so a Top 5 finish will do very nicely.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 2689 - A huge 712 point lead on second now but......the imminent future looks unclear now he is out of the IPL. He has played 14 weeks of cricket this year - the 5th most of anyone. Where and when will he next play as regularly?

2. Jos Buttler - 1977 - 2 games this week and a 100+ score but not the impactful one he needed to force his agenda. Has put a nice little gap on third place though.

3. Simon Harmer - 1700 - Continues his meteoric rise. He only broke into the Top 5 last week and manages to overleap fourth and move into Bronze medal position.

4. Aiden Markram - 1690 - Sat out the end of the IPL and moves down to fourth.

5. Saim Ayub - 1552 - Approaching a month since his last cricket. If Gill scores 39 points in the IPL final he overtakes his rival.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 192.07 (Up from 180.92)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 163.6
3. Simon Harmer- 141.67 - (Up from 138.55)

Having spent two weeks as the biggest loser, Paul Walter moves back to basically the same spot by improving his average by 19.38 this week. Liam Dawson moves down by 4,54 to 82.54.

Bit of a lull in points after the IPL but still enough action for a Weekly Top 5

Weekly Top 5

1. Liam Dawson - 408 - In the 14 T20 games that Dawson has played up until this week he has scored 459 points - this week he scored 408 in three. What is more he also moves up an insane 8 places in the Overall List to 7th.

=2. Pathum Nissanka - 99 - Announced he was giving up the LPL to undergo surgery but was fit enough in his half century in Sri Lanka's ODI win over West Indies.

=2. Sam Curran = 99 - After coming out of the block all guns blazing last week he had a more sanguine week this week with one short of a hundred in 3 games.

4. Paul Walter - 81 - Just the single game for Essex this week but another decent score sees him into fourth. He has the 7th most points of anybody since the start of the County Championship.

5. Mehidy Hasan Miraz - 51 - Two wickets and a contribution in the field is enough to get you in the Top 5 in this lean scoring week.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 2689 - After a very busy 21 weeks, Vaibhav can rest on his 683 point laurels a little bit.

2. Jos Buttler - 2006 - Just 29 points in an underwhelming IPL final for Buttler.....will be back in action over the English summer to continue to put pressure on that top spot.

3. Simon Harmer - 1744 - 44 points in a more characteristic T20 Blast week for Harmer. Zero immediate pressure below him though so no sweat.

4.Aiden Markram - 1591 - Inactive this week but holds 4th place.

5. Saim Ayub - 1591 - Is very thankful that Gill had such a poor IPL final. Holds his place in the top 5 by just 29 points.

Ones To Watch

Curran has so much cricket to play over this Summer and is 2 points away from 8th, 12 away from 7th, 92 from 6th and (more aspirationally) 320 from 3rd.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 192.07 (Up from 180.92)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 163.6
3. Simon Harmer- 134.15 (Down from 141.67)

Liam Dawson dropped the most last week but has mroe than made up for it with a bump of 23.17 to 105.71. Gill is down the most - minus 9.18 to 120.15.

Highest Average Points per Game

Red Ball- Mehidy Hasan Miiraz = 208.5

Short Form - Nat Sciver-Brunt = 101.57

excellent points for Dawson..... and he absolutely does bloody owe me

hunting down the Red twins, but still miles and miles behind Red. Hopefully the boy wonder will go back to sleep for a few months. He's probably got exams and proms coming up, so he'll need to keep himself fresh for all those other things

He dropped out of his IPL side, so I assumed he'd been injured, rather than any overt attempt by RCB to give Bethell some time in the middle for England

Weekly Top 5

1. Mehidy Hasan Miraz - 237 - Wasn't hugely impactful in his side's landmark ODI series victory over Australia but chipped in with Economies and Strike Rates to get his third Cricketer of the Week....was helped by a domestic outing at the start of the week too. Up an unbelievable 5 places and into the Overall Top 10.

2. Shubman Gill - 166 - A century in only his second red ball game of the year sees captain Gill take silver medal this week.

3. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 108 - Barely time to breathe after the IPL and is now in national colours for India A. One limp innings, but then a SR of 200 for a near-half century against Afghanistan A sees Vaibhav continue his strong form in One Day-ers after the Under 19 World Cup.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 100 - Very poor return to the international stage with a weak score against Australia but dispelled that with a big score against India. Hitting her straps just in time.

5. Harry Brook - 96 - Lots of decent performances for England against New Zealand whilst Brook was.....kind of just about all right. 5th place though in a low scoring week.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 2792 - The kid just won't take a break. His lead is now 786 and he continues to be the only player to have topped our Overall List all year.

2. Jos Buttler - 2006 - Inactive this week but that 200 + buffer has proved useful.

3. SImon Harmer - 1770 - A poor end to the first block of the T20 Blast for Harmer with a mee 26 points from two games. Holds third for a third week though.

4. Shubman Gill - 1728 - Makes his bow in the Top 5 for 2026. Completely skips the indignity of fifth place and jumps into 4th.

5. Aiden Markram - 1690 - His World Cup momentum slowed over the IPL and now inactive; he holds onto his Top 5 place by just 99 points.

Ones To Watch

Just 2 points between a resurgent Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Pathum Nissanka as they both have white ball commitments over the next week.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 186.13 (Down from 192.07)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 153 (Down from 163.6)
3. Quinton De Kock - 133.65.

MHM moves up by 10.29 points to see his average over the notional 100 points an active week mark for a good player. NSB drops the most but still holds second overall.

Weekly Top 5

1. Shubman Gill - 358 - Two stonking ODI innings for the Indian captain sees him claim his 12th All Time Cricketer of the Week - clear in 6th place. Maxwell with 13 is his next target.

2. Simon Harmer - 256 - One of his big scoring weeks against Leicester sees him get a score that would normally be worth a Cricketer of the Week nod. Had to suffice with the silver medal place instead.

3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 164 - Two (almost) half centuries in England's World Cup campaign - followed by the news she is out of the next two. When she plays she is devastating but those injuries are a concern.

4. Paul Walter - 162 - It's feast or famine for Tall Paul - and this week he has been eating well courtesy of a century against Leicestershire.

5. Sophie Ecclestone- 130 - has been a very poor year for Ecclestone but this week sees her jump off of bottom spot and into 20th thanks to 100 wickets across two World Cup games.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 2911 - 59 runs in two ODIs this week saw him finish 6th for the week and continues to push his lead on first up towards the 1000 point mark.

2. Shubman Gill - 2086 - Two weeks ago jumped from 6th to 4th. This week he has done just the same; o'er-leaping third and alighting at second.

3. Simon Harmer - 2026 - Will feel aggrieved to have remained in third despite Jos Buttler finishing below him and having scored a quarter of a thousand points.

4. Jos Buttler - Inactive and down two places to fourth.

5. Aiden Markram - 1690 - Just about holding on to fifth place against despite a month of scoring 0 points.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 181.94 (Down from 186.13)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 154.57 (Up from 153)
3. Shubman Gill = 139.07 (Up from 123.43)

Gill moves up by 15.64 to push into the top three highest average. An underwhelming game from Sam Curran in the County Championship sees him down by 5.77 points to 122.31.

He couldn't have played much because nearly the whole tournament was called off because they hosted it on a cow field that remained waterlogged for 4 days after it rained. I think basically all of the tournament was called off save for about 2 games, one of which was a final between the only team who had won a game and someone random.

Martin Guptil hammered a few former FC nobodies and a few Belgian guys recruited at random in a beer garden for 150 off 40 odd balls in the final. I watched on happy that Craig didn't convince me to turn my arm over.
