I figured that some of the players would receive lots of bids, so I avoided them, because I believed that they would cost too much money. My biggest bid (I think) was for the legend that is Tommo........(Tommo )........... so I went high to get him.

Sadly powelly and brendy went high as well, but I think (not certain though) that the eliminator thingy means that get him

which is only fitting really, because I believe that I'm the only person to have selected Tommo (Tommo ) in my FLs for the last 3 years.

But is it not the case that either myself or Powelly could re-bid for Tommo? Doesn't you winning the tie-breaker (assuming you have) just mean that you get the final bid. But say that Powelly puts in a bid of like £200k to totally blow you out of the market?

Or is it my turn to totally mis-understand the rules (although like you Footman, I had/have no idea how the tie-breaker thing works)?

I'm waiting to see how the bidding process pans out, because this is completely new to me. Once I've got it sussed, I'll have a better idea of auction strategy for next year.

I'm puzzled as why Tomlinson goes to the coin, and Barker goes to Red?

I thought that Barker went to the flip but that I had the leading bid on Tommo courtesy of the odd even thing

Powelly XI has no. 6

Brendy v Footmen = 3 (Odds Brendy over Footmen)
Footmen v Powelly = 7 (Odds Footmen over Powelly)
Powelly v Brendy = 8 (Evens Powelly over Brendy)

The 4-way tiebreaker should be:

Footmen (1) v Olympian (4)= Footmen
Footmen v Makhaya (1) = Makhaya
Footmen v Red Devils (1) = Red Devils
Olympian v Makhaya = Olympian
Olympian v Red Devils = Olympian
Makhaya v Red Devils = Red Devils

Olympian = 2
Red Devils = 2

Olympian v Red Devils = Olympian

I'm still puzzled

The individuals prepare by deciding who will be assigned odds and who will be evens. Then, one or both people say "One, two, three, shoot!". As the word "shoot" is said, the two people quickly and simultaneously thrust a fist into the center, extending either an index finger, or both the middle and index finger, indicating one or two. The sum total of fingers displayed is either odd or even. If the result is odd, then the person who called odds is the victor, and can decide the issue as he or she sees fit

if the result is odd, then the person calling odds is the victor
me -v- brendy 1+2 =3, so the result is odd and I called odds

I promise you I'm not trying to be difficult, and I'm perfectly content to accept whatever decision you come up with.... I'm just trying to understand, so that I'll know for the future
