Weekly Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 253 - A personally very challenging week for Jos - but he did not let it impact his game. This is his fifth Cricketer of the Week - the same he got last year. He has never had more than 5 in a calendar year.

2. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 240 - Two half centuries in three games has seen NSB hit the ground running in The Hundred. Both of them came with 30 SR points a piece too.

3. Liam Livingstone - 230 - Certainly made a show of the fact he has silenced his critics after his 69 against The Oval. He has moved up two places from second bottom to fourth bottom with this week's haul.

4. Jamie Smith - 200 - Followed up his Cricketer of the Week last week with a round double hundred this week. The highlight of his week was his half century against Trent Bridge.

5. Annabel Sutherland - 188 - After breaking her long fallow period last week, Sutherland hits the Top 5 in her second week. Her highlight with the bat was 51 against London but she certainly helped her cause with 50 Fielding Points.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 3312 - Broke his extraordinary run of 11 weeks scoring three figure scores but has a comfortable enough lead of 372 to allow for such slip ups.

2. Liam Dawson - 2940 - Just the two wickets across his three games for London this week...and he has a bit of scoreboard pressure from those below him. Will need a better week this week to keep second.

3. Jos Buttler - 2885 - Moves up a place thanks to his Cricketer of the Week feats. Only 55 points separate him from second place; a berth he lost 2 months ago.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 2804 - His first inactive until the Asia Cup - I presume. He has a 64 point lead on 5th but then a huge 506 point lead on 6th so might stick around in the Top 5 until then.

5. Nat Sciver- Brunt - 2740 - Her big score this week keeps her in fifth but draws her closer to fourth and puts a massive gulch between the Top 5 and the chase pack - to the tune of 442 points.

Other Movers

Three players moved up a spot this week. Kane Williamson to 6th, Pathum Nissanka to 14th and (perhaps most notably) we have a new name at the foot of the table as Ayub leaves the position he has held for 27 of the last 28 weeks, He is replaced by Adam Zampa.

Ones to Watch

The two players closest to each other this week are both plying their trades captaining in rather unfashionable T20 leagues. Will Kane Williamson's Lodon side see him hold off a returning Nicholas Pooran?

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 157.71 (Down from 161.4)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 142.69 (Up from 138.89)
3. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6

Liam Dawson is doen the most - decreasing by 3.94 to 127.85. Perhaps most tellingly, Liam Livingstone's increase of 9.56, the most of anyone, still sees him with the lowest average of our 24 cricketers - 67.44.

Zampa has secured my customary bottom spot even though not catastrophically injured (see Pant, Bairstow) or on a career break (Williamson).

Weekly Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 428 - Last August Curran scored the highest score of 2024...he may have just done the same thing for this year. Bloody loves The Hundred. This is his fourth Cricketer of the Week of 2025 making this his most successful year of his three on The List.

2. Liam Livingstone - 211- Using The Hundred as something of a redemption for what has been a pretty dire year. Has registered 441 points in the last 2 weeks and has gone up from 23rd to 19th in that time.

3. Annabel Sutherland - 190 -Another Top 5 score for the Aussie as she marks her return to cricket in style. She has moved up from 19th at the start of the competition to 14th now.

4. Jos Buttler - 143 - Continues his strong showing in The Hundred with a half century against the North to register back to back triple figure point scores.

5. Travis Head - 133 - Back in the Top 5 after a spell away but his score this week is from three matches so 133 seems rather underbaked. Add into this that almost half of that is from a very unusual 4-fer then there is some real questions about his batting.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 3740- At the start of the week he had a lead of 340 on second place. He then scores the joint 17th highest score that anyone has scored in the seven and a half years we've done this and now has a gap of 712 on the chasing pack.

2. Jos Buttler - 3028 - Has used his impressive form in The Hundred to force his way up to second place. He will soon be joining back up with England for the final third of the year so could well launch an assault on the top spot.

3. Liam Dawson - 2972 - Seems like his spell with the England Test side kinda broke him. Before that foray against India he registered 139.42 points an active week...since then just 64.6. He is subsequently down a position.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2826 - After her great start to The Hundred, she had a quieter week this week...but still managed to move up a place to fourth.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 2804 - Inactive again but a gap of 433 between himself and Kane Williamson in 6th.

Other Movers

Harry Brook scores 101 this week and manages to break the Top 10 for the first time. Adam Zampabags just 91 points from a T20 and an ODI versus West Indies but still relgates Saim Ayub back into bottom spot.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 170 (Up from 157.71)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 141.3 (Down from 142.69)

Sam Curran already had the best average and then scores nearly half a thousand points a week. Nicholas Pooran's poor start to the CPL sees his average drop by 4.95 to 122.11 a week.

Doing an early update again on Friday. Only Pathum Nissanka will miss out and I am at peace with that.

From next week onwards we will be at normal time as I'll be back at school and without the frivolity that the summer break has encumbered me with.

Really is a return to chalkface.....

For a myriad of reasons I resigned from my position as Deputy Head last year and going back to full time teaching at another school.
