Sorry I'll miss out. Don't mind voting if you need me to? Either way I'll follow it closely.

Probably being optimistic waiting for any other players so we'll get started

Welcome to the 2017 Music Cup

Rules

Each week i will specify a theme, all players will select a song that fits that theme and send to me via PM, probably a good idea to nominate a backup song just in case your first choice is taken. If i dont consider the nominated song is appropriate for the theme i will ask for a second option.

Once i have all nominations i will list them, with youtube videos, for the voting stage.

Votes will be made for a favourite and second favourite from the nominated songs. I will give 3 points to a first choice and 1 point to a second choice. At the end of each week i will add up the points scored for that week and then award scores. For just 7 players the scores will be 8 for the weekly winner and then 6 through 1 for the other places. Points will be totalled from week to week to give an overall winner. Votes should be made by PM. (Just a hint make sure your mail box is not full as you wont see any new PMs)

One main change from the Movie Cup, just to add a little bit of extra intrigue each player will have a Joker. That Joker can only be played once and will get the player double points for that week. So if they have the winning song for the week instead of 8 points they will get 16. The Joker must be played when you nominate your song and before you have seen the list of songs nominated by other players. So it will be a judgement call if you think you have a strong song for that weeks theme whether you play your Joker or not and you also wont know if anyone else has played their Joker that week. You also wont know what the remaining themes will be and whether there is a later theme you might prefer.

Any questions on those rules feel free to ask.

i'm trying to avoid themes that have an obvious winner or are too genre specific

the other good thing about this competition is even if there is a song nominated that someone isn't familiar with its alot easier to watch a youtube video of it than a full 2 hour movie
