I wanted to retain Babar and Rizwan so I guess I'm very lucky to get first pick! For official purposes I'll retain Babar

At first I thought that this was the way the auction worked, then I thought that because Red and I had retained a player, that Babar and Harmer were our first round picks, now I think that Arthur was in Red's position last year and got his first pick despite retaining a player.

So now I'm trying to decide if this is the fairest way to proceed, because if Red was first on the list and I was second, we'd end up with both our preferred players before Prof Snr or DD had even had the chance to get one of theirs.

I'm not suggesting that you change anything now, but is it worth looking at for 2024, Prof, so that a retained player is classed as the round 1 pick? It just seems to me to be a little fairer to people who are new to the game, or who have released all their old players and find themselves at the bottom of the pile
