Well where do you stop. If thats not fine, then is Schindlers List? After all, wasnt the story of that taken wholly from an Australian novel by Thomas Keneally? I believe the only historical fact in the film was there was a bloke called Oscar Schindler, I believe most of the film is untrue, and that its dubious whether or not Schindler was actually exploiting Jewish workers for his own financial gain, rather than the fact he had a heart

There obviously isn't a place to draw a line between the majority of fiction which is based on the writer's experiences and research into the subject, and probably a little obfuscation to make it seem more fictional, and based-on-a-true-story (should have had Fargo...) which retains the actual names of the people involved and the places as well as some of the incidents and draws attention to its veracity And then there's straight biography. I imagine all the other films are fictionalised to varying degrees.

(just to clarify if there is a movie and a TV series that were both based on the same third party source but not really linked to each other then that doesn't count)

(just some more clarification, not really counting things like the Star Wars animated shows as a TV series)
