Hi guys
There is a bit of a concern that the current ODI Fantasy League Rules are a bit biased in favor of the batsmen. To try and even the balance up, 2 extra bonus point rules have been added for economical bowlers.
Ive added the rules (highlighted in purple text) to the overall list for your consideration.
Unless there is some problem these new rules or an alternative suggestion agreed to, these will be the standard rules for ODI's from now on.
Thanks
Gollygosh

Team Selection
Pick 5 "core" players and 2 substitutes who will come into scoring contention if one or more of your core players is not playing for some reason. The players can all be from 1 team or a mix of the two, its up to you. Substitute players will be selected in the order you have named them.

Scoring Format
Batting
For every run scored 1 point
If a batsman scores 50 he will get additional 20
If he scores 100 additional 30 and for a score above 150 additional 40
Someone who has a strike rate of 80 plus he will get 10 additional points with 20 for a S/R of above 100 provided the batsman has scored at least 20 runs.
10pt penalty for a duck (if batting in top 6 of the order)

Bowling
25 pts per wicket plus
20pt bonus for a 3fer
30pt bonus for a 5fer
5pt bonus per maiden over
2 pt penalty per noball/wide bowled
If a bowler has an economy rate of <=5.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 15 point bonus
If a bowler has an economy rate of<=4.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 25 point bonus.

Fielding
10 points for each catch taken, run out as well as stumping

Good changes, makes bowlers like Bracken, Vettori higher point scorers, which is how it should be seeing as they are such good bowlers. :thumb

i have a suggest for points scoring, in which if a bowler bowls at least 3 overs and goes for more than 6 an over, a 5pt penalty, and more than 7 a 15pt penalty

what do you think?

5 overs should be the minimum overs bowled, I'd suggest.

I disagree with the 5 overs thing - the batting bonus kicks in at 20 runs, so 5 overs seems a bit much - maybe 4?

yeah 4 is probably fine

In one day cricket these days most of them go for runs because of 20 overs of power plays, so it is fine. It is very difficult to maintain an economy rate of under 4.

If that is the case then bonus points to batsmen can be given only if he has a strike rate of over 100 and not for a strike rate of just 80.

ok heres my suggestions about economy in full just so i dont confuse people

If a bowler has an economy rate of<=5.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 5 point bonus.
If a bowler has an economy rate of<=4.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 15 point bonus.
If a bowler has an economy rate of<=3.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 25 point bonus.

If a bowler has an economy rate of =>6.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 5 point penalty.
If a bowler has an economy rate of =>7.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 15 point penalty.
If a bowler has an economy rate of =>8.0 and has bowled at least 3 overs, he will receive a 25 point penalty.

not sure I agree with the penalties - we don't penalise batsmen for slow scoring ...
