assuming no-one has any objections, would this be a good time to ask BN to publish re-written rules for after the current round of ODI series have been completed

Now that ODI scores are more regularly approaching or exceeding 400 should we start rewarding bowlers with economy rates of 6 or less and increase the bonus points for 5 and 4? 10, 20 and 30 bonus points, perhaps.
Some change is needed, certainly.

Sounds a reasonable proposal to me

while we are on the subject of bowlers econ bonus.... what is the rationale for min 3 overs? I confess I always thought it was 4 overs, but with T20 bowlers required to bowl at least half their overs, perhaps it should be 5 for 50 over comps?
or am I getting carried away?

I see that this was discussed earlier in the thread, so fair enough
It looks as though all the current ODI FL's have been completed (I can't see an FL for SA/SL), so hopefully no-one will mind me publishing the new scoring rules for 50 over FL's effective from today

Scoring Rules for 50 over Fantasy Leagues (amended February 2017)
Scoring
Batting
1 point for every run scored
A batsman scoring 50 will receive a 20pt bonus, with another 10pts for every further 50 runs scored
(ie. 50 = 20pts, 100 = 30pts, 150 = 40pts, 200+= 50pts)
A batsman scoring at least 20 runs, will receive.....
10 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 80-99
20 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 100-149
30 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 150-199
40 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 200+
Bowling
20pts per wicket
20 bonus pts for a 3fer
30 bonus pts for a 5fer
5 bonus pts per maiden over
A bowler who has bowled at least 3 overs will receive.....
10 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=6.0
20 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=5.0
30 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=4.0
(ie. an ER of 4.25 scores 20pts)
Fielding
10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each, if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs.

not sure if it needs changed or needs longer to see how it goes but having just scored the NZ-SA ODI series i feel giving 30 points for an economy rate of 4 or under for a minimum of 3 overs is a little high
someone can bowl 10 overs for 51 runs and takes a wicket and they get the same points as someone who bowls 3 overs in the middle of an innings for just 12 runs
maybe increase the threshold from 3 overs i dont know, just feels alot of points for what can be a minimal contribution

Considering it's a batsman's game I think the bowlers get a raw deal and I shall think twice about including a bowler in my white ball games in future.

I would like the minimum overs for run rate bonus points to be at least 4 if not 5 in ODI.

can i just ask if the bonus points for ODIs are fair for the forthcoming Women's World Cup given scoring tends to be quite a bit lower in Womens cricket and it seems a bit imbalanced between bat and ball given that strike rates tend not to be as high for the batters and economy rates are lower for the bowlers
getting points for an economy of under 6 in womens cricket seems a bit generous to me
just wanted to ask the question before starting the thread for the FL
