Just a suggestion as picking pairings is going to be as important as anything ....

Maybe we can do the final as an average points available per match? The current scoring system means that a player can lose four partnership matches on the day 1-2 and end with a draw, so finishing 0-4-1 and get the same points against another person who draws against him in his only single match.

To me it's pretty much a lottery to second guess who gets picked

I agree that you might be unfortunate if one of your selection only plays once (or even not at all) on Friday/Saturday. However, as in your example, if someone loses all their fourball/foursome matches, surely they wouldn't have earned any points anyway?

Or are you suggesting there should be some points for being selected on Friday/Saturday? If so, and it seems popular with everyone else, it could be added for next time around.

The point is that players not playing will cripple you quickly, even if those players would perform when they do only if given one chance.....yeah in my example they are the same points, but surely the singles only guy has performed better?

The suggestion was to simply take an average points per match for each player and then total it at the end..... It reflects performance better and takes the luck of the pick out? I can see the competition being won on the luck of who gets the most picks playing

isn't part of picking your team trying to predict who you think will play in the fours ?

It was a suggestion, if people disagree then it's fine
