The bowlers don't bat, so maybe six specialist bats.

True. Aussie legend of course. Goes against Trumble too, as he was that era.

Is this 7+4 combo.

we dont have a strict formation, it kinda depends on what players are available

in general i think we have tried to go for a 6-1-4 team setup tho

I bracketed him with Tate above. Both had short careers and left great stats.

1. Mark Taylor
2. Marcus Trescothick
3. Jonathan Trott
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Graham Thorpe/Ross Taylor
6.
7. Bob Taylor/Don Tallon/Hashan Tillakaratne/Tatenda Taibu
8. Fred Trueman
9. Maurice Tate/Frank Tyson
10. Jeff Thomson
11. Hugh Tayfield

Hugh Trumble/Glenn Turner

Hashan played a lot of Tests for SL, but apparently only kept in 11- averaged 42 though in these.

Think in a similar way to Kohli in the 'K' XI, we are going to have a regular 3/4 at 6 here.

He was an opener. Looking at the stats pre-WWI, averages were generally low. A handful of batters averaged in the 40s, but Hobbs averaged 57, which is way out of the range of everyone else. Trumper is such a big name (I think Gideon Haigh recently wrote a book on a photo of him) but average-wise, he doesn't stand out in his era. He was however the second highest run scorer pre WWI (behind Clem Hill) and scored the most tons (8).

On legend, it feels ridiculous having Trott or Tresco ahead of him though.

No new comments, so possibly go forward with this...

1. Mark Taylor
2. Marcus Trescothick
3. Jonathan Trott
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Graham Thorpe
6. Ross Taylor
7. Hashan Tillakaratne
8. Fred Trueman
9. Frank Tyson
10. Jeff Thomson
11. Hugh Tayfield

Possible last quibbles:
Glenn Turner or Victor Trumper for Tresco
Maurice Tate for Frank Tyson
Taibu, Taylor or Tallon for Hashan

V next.
I always say that everybody's right.
