Hales, Patel, Mullaney - Notts
Roy, Dernbach - Surrey
Vince, Afridi - Hants
Ingram - Glamorgan

And none of those sides play each other, so in theory I could take all eight to Finals Day.

A trawl back through the thread and I found this

I can't get out of my head the risk that Kent will rest Stevens for this competition.

I will replace him with....um....Finch?....Dernbach?....Topley?......

Dernbach; we're going we Dernbach.

It appeared to me that you were mulling over whether to replace Stevens or not, and at the time I didn't read this as being a conclusive team change, so I've been scoring you with your original team which included Stevens.

whenever I change a team I always score out the discarded player so that is immediately obvious that the change has been made.

feels unnatural only having 4 south players

In your case brendy, it's only since you questioned things that the change has become obvious to me and so I missed it at the start of the comp.... and I apologise for that.

what to do?

Obviously Dernbach (496) has scored 203 points more than Stevens (293), which is significant in terms of the leaderboard, and he is still in the comp, which Stevens isn't. At the same time, Red has been sitting on top of the leaderboard thinking that he had a bit of a cushion because he didn't realise that you'd asked for a change to be made either

Red Devil wrote:I didn't think I saw see Dernback on your list :hmmm

so it's all a bit of a *modded* up really.... mostly on my part

I can easily change your team, but given that we are coming to the sharp end of the comp, I think I would need confirmation from Red that he is happy for me to do so, and that he is happy that you tried to change your team in good time, and that I cocked up in good faith

If we left it alone, I think you'd have a better than decent chance of winning it anyway

My apologies to both of you. Let me know how you wish me to proceed

Sorry gents

It's all a bit messy, really.

If I'm ever unsure over a team selection I generally ask the question. This time I didn't, so it slipped by me

and I usually quote the changed team, and stick a :thumb underneath it to confirm that I've picked up the change

I didn't do that this time, either

maybe I'm becoming complacent

I'll be more careful in future

To be fair though, it's not like Red could have done anything differently as the competition has progressed, had Dernbach's points been continuously added to my score.

Obviously if I'd noticed that I wasn't receiving Dernbach's points, I'd have highlighted this long before now. But I've been quite relaxed and trusting, with no desire to manually check my points tally every time. But naturally now that I know, I would like Dernbach's points, as I believe I'm entitled to them.

Apologies though if I didn't make it crystal clear.

(I've already been sitting here these whole weeks, seething at myself for not going with Finch when I was pondering over that change! That's bad enough for me - although very much my own mistake!! :strop :facepalm )

:strop I've been thinking i was in with a chance so I'm afraid i'm going to have to dig my heels in and insist that the change is not allowed

:P :lmao

Looking back at Brendy's post I'm happy to accept that Brendy intended the change to his team to be made ... and don't beat yourself up about it DFM, you do an amazingly efficient job of running these comps :thumb

and I think that pretty much means the bookies will have started paying out so congrats to Brendy :clap

Many thanks, Red.

And yes, don't worry about it Footman. It's why I don't bother to deeply scrutinise your scoring. You do a great job!

surprised Wayne Madsen
Joe denly
chris Nash
lyth

not on the list.
Joe Denly scored 567 runs with 2 hundreds and a fifty averaged 43, strike rate 150.
lyth same 535 runs with 1 hundred and 4 fifty strike rate 164
Madsen 522 runs with 4 fifties strike rate 146
Nash 520 with 6 fifties, strike rate 141
looking at that list bowlers and all rounders or Lower order sloggers get too much points.
not sure how the 4 top run scores can't get on the list.
maybe need to increase the bonus for high scores or 50s.

I think it's more of a case that no-one in the league has picked those players, so no need for Footman to score them. I'm sure in reality, they all do have many points. Especially Madsen, as an all-rounder.

Dahm, thought it included all the players lol.
been making a list of the players included, so I have a general idea what type of player do well in these types of competitions lol.
