so far this year FTECB have tried having the top 3 in each group progress to the KO stages in the RL50 and now the WSL
in all three cases the team progressing directly as group winners have ended up losing to the team that had to beat someone for the right to face them
and it's obvious why...... the group winners have to go into these matches cold, while their opponents are all warmed up and in winning form.
It's a stupid idea and FTECB need to acknowledge this and go back to doing something sensible like have 4 teams going into the semi's or 8 teams into the quarter's
blooming obvious!
