I reckon Smith's head will be scrambled for the IPL...... even if he is allowed to play. He doesn't strike me as the sort of player capable of sticking two fingers up at the world and exorcising his demons by scoring bucketfuls of runs. I'm trying to work out if Warner is that type of player.

It's a damned nuisance, because I'm trying out a new system of selection, and I was pretty happy with my original team

Last year in middle of IPL season Smith went to Dubai to relax and missed 2 or 3 matches. It was weird.

Steven Smith and David Warner will not be allowed to play in IPL 2018 because of their roles in the pre-meditated plan to tamper with the ball on the third day of the Cape Town Test against South Africa.

The decision from the BCCI - announced by IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla - came as news broke that Cricket Australia was banning the players for 12 months, in the wake of tremendous outrage over the incident at Newlands from the Australian public, the Australian government and sponsors.

He was reported in PSL. Match officials were supposed to send report to WICB for further process. He is not banned yet but he may be before the IPL. Hope the WICB is aware that we have to take decisions for our FL soon.

imo even if he is allowed to bowl in IPL, he will be a throw away from being banned. Narine has stopped picking bulk of wickets which he once used to after he remodeled his action. IPL frnachisee then used him as opener pinch hitter, which worked very well. Then Big Bash franchisee promoted him to top order in some innings. In PSL 3 he batted as opener for Lahore Qalandars for few matches, batted in middle order for few but did not have as much success as he had opening for KKR.

This would be problematic for me

Rajasthan Royals seem keen to select Heinrich Klaasen as replacement of Steve Smith.
