Comments:

DFM into an early lead, but not much in it at the top. That it was a bowler's game is evident, as the top of the leaderboard is occupied by those who picked four bowlers (plus Kohli).

On the subject of India's captain, his non-performance was something of a non-issue, as only one poster (Alviro) was brave enough not to pick him in their five.

At the other end of the scale, andy managed to be down to 4 players for the first test, but fortunately for him one of them was Pujara, so he stays off the bottom spot. Despite India's victory, mike's 4 India 1 Aussie strategy isn't enough to keep him off the wooden spoon position, as unfortunately his one Aussie pick was Khawaja.

All to play for as we head to Perth.

By the way, I note that Red and Red Jr's 5 picks and first reserve are the same - your squads only differ in the second reserve spot. Just want to double check that was what was intended?

I guess so! I would complain about the kid copying me but he selected his first

Lots of bowling and fielding points in this match so some big FL scores were available. Forty wickets fell, slow scoring so lots of maidens too, bonus points as several bowlers claimed 5 wickets in the match. Lots of fielding points were claimed too, as no fewer than 35 wickets were caught - apparently a record. I noticed as I was totting up that all twenty second innings wickets that fell were catches. Several slippers claimed the fielding bonus points as well as the wicket keepers (I kinda felt Pant should get more than a 10 point bonus for 11 catches in the match - equalling the world record - but those are the rules).

just a note, fluffy... Pant would get 10 bonus points for every 3 catches/stumpings, so if he took 11 of them he would get 30 bonus points altogether. A 12th catch would have seen him get 40

Ah, that seems fairer. It's not quite clear from the standard text of the rules - perhaps we should rephrase it to 10 bonus points per three contributions in the field?

Apologies all. I'll recalculate tonight - should only affect Pant and Paine (who I think took six).

I agree

I would also change the bit about awarding 10 points if '2 players' (are involved in a run out) to 'more than one player', because sometimes 3 players are credited with completing a run out, and in those circumstances I always award 10 points to all three

I'm not sure I've ever seen that.

At least cricinfo's scorecards have started crediting the fielders involved in the run out, which makes it much easier to identify who gets the points. I've seen split credit for two a few times, but I can't recall three.

Ok, so that error only affected Pant, who scored an extra 20 points putting him up to a very respectable 193 for the match.
