just a final round of 3 matches next weekend and then the prequalinator and the final to go a week later

probably safe to say that andy is looking spoon bound, whilst GG is cementing himself in the mars bar position

New Zealand strip the Super Smash bare of players at a critical time, so it was great timing for me that Mark Chapman finally came to the party, scoring his biggest haul of points in this competition by the proverbial country mile

A good time to go top, but it feels unlikely that it will stay that way. I have the points, but not so many of the players. Then again, it is almost impossible to tell who has players left and who doesn't, because so many are injured, at the BBL or with NZ. It's a qualinating elimifier as well, just to compound the problem.

I usually include the players remaining at this stage, but to do so here seems futile with so many players not playing anyway.

Northern, Central and Auckland are the remaining dogs in the fight. NZ are in action on the day of the eliminatifier and either side of the final, so perhaps the plethora of Northern internationals will be released for the final (they are straight through), or perhaps they won't.... who knows :dunno

probably just going to have to wait and see

Milne has finally made an appearance, which Adi will find heartening, I'm sure

I have 5 of the top 10 (5 of the top 6, actually), but it doesn't feel as though it will be good enough... which is unusual.

I am taking any points that Milne scores as bonus as i didn't really think he wouldplay after i realized he was injured. Moreover 1 match and 63 points is a good return in this format.

and with AP having all of my Central players, if my Northern boys do not return from the BBL or NZ duty for the final, there ain't a damned thing I can do about it

Looking at the remaining players

AP: Bruce, Seifert, Rance, Tickner

Footman: Rance, Tickner, Mitchell, Devcich

Adi: Bracewell, Milne, Mitchell, Santner, Devcich

Red: Tickner, Mitchell, Santner, Devcich

As far as I am aware - Seifert, Mitchell and Bracewell are not in the New Zealand ODI squad against Bangladesh and should be available.

Santner is in the Blackcaps ODI squad and they play a 2nd ODI on Saturday (at Chch) and a 3rd ODI on Wednesday (at Dunedin). In theory Santner could be released for the final if he was to board a late evening or early morning flight from Christchurch to Auckland and get to Hamilton.

Devcich appears to be playing in the Pakistan Super League.
