2019 All Year Fantasy Competition - Declaration of Intent
Posted: Thu Dec 20, 2018 4:55 pm
The end of 2018 is nigh and therefore the start of 2019 is ….nigh…..er(?)
With this in mind we need to start to think about our competition for next year.
I will launch the actual thread on the 27th but in order to be prepared for that, can we use this thread for the following admin.
If you are a pre-existing player, you may only keep one of your 2018 players whilst the other needs to be reintroduced into the draft. Please can you declare which player you wish to retain and which you wish to release in the thread below.
If you wish to join this year, please can you declare your interest below.
In order to speed up the selection process can I please ask you to send me a shortlist of 5 players that you would like to select in order of preference. The deadline for this is 12 Noon on the 27th of December but the longer you wait the more likely you might be able to pick up a player that has been discarded by a competitor. (NB I will be sending my list of 5 to DFM so as to ensure that there is no skulduggery). To clarify you can pick any player in the world as long as they are not retained by a current player. They will be allocated points for all forms of cricket they play in 2019.
I will use your lists after I have done the random draw of names to select your duo for the forthcoming year.
Believe it or not this is my third attempt at explaining this process and I still think it makes very little sense so I will give you an example.
I have JP Duminy and Sunil Narine. I wish to keep neither of them so I will declare that below.
I will then send my list of 5 players with number one being my most sought after player and number 5 being my least desirable. This can be sent and altered as many times as you wish between now and Dec 27th to allow for any potentially released players. You may include players on the proviso that they might be released if you so wish.
At 12 Noon on the 27th I will draw a random order of names for the draft and use your lists to populate our duos. A final note. Please bear in mind that this year I will be removing the 5 points for maiden overs bowled so the rules will be thus:
Batting
1 point for every run scored
A batsman scoring 50 will receive a 20pt bonus, with another 10pts for every further 50 runs scored
(ie. 50 = 20pts, 100 = 30pts, 150 = 40pts, 200+= 50pts)
A batsman scoring at least 20 runs, will receive.....
10 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 80-99
20 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 100-149
30 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 150-199
40 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 200+
Bowling
20pts per wicket
20 bonus pts for a 3fer
30 bonus pts for a 5fer
A bowler who has bowled at least 3 overs will receive.....
10 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=6.0
20 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=5.0
30 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=4.0
(ie. an ER of 4.25 scores 20pts)
Fielding
10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each, if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs.
Please do ask if there are any queries.
Happy picking.
Simon
