Who'd have thunk it?

IPL time again

Chris Gayle between the wickets might resemble a slow boat to China, but this tournament is faster than a speeding train.... a high octane, nuclear fuelled, exhaustively commercialised behemoth that will bat toss off in a little over 3 weeks time.

Okay, this is no T20 Blast.... what could be...... but you really don't want to miss the opportunity to participate in some small way in the greatest show on earth (I had to say that or I might have been found to be in breach of IPL compliance regulations)

Rules

11 players, no subs, the only restrictions are that no big ponce Maxwell or Vera Lynn selections will be accepted (or at least will only be accepted with bad grace.... rassin, frassin, grassin, d1ck dastardly)

Scoring

Batting
1pt for every run scored
Players scoring at least 25 runs will receive a 10pt bonus for every 25 runs scored
Players scoring at least 15 runs will receive a 10pt bonus for a s/r 125-174
Players scoring at least 15 runs will receive a 20pt bonus for a s/r 175-224
Players scoring at least 15 runs will receive a 30pt bonus for a s/r 225+

Bowling
25 pts per wicket plus
5 points bonus for maiden over
10 pt bonus for a 2fer
20 pt bonus for a 4fer
Bowler with an economy rate of <=4.0 (min 2 overs) will receive a 50 point bonus
Bowler with an economy rate of <=5.0 (min 2 overs) will receive a 40 point bonus
Bowler with an economy rate of <=6.0 (min 2 overs) will receive a 30 point bonus
Bowler with an economy rate of <=7.0 (min 2 overs) will receive a 20 point bonus
Bowler with an economy rate of <=8.0 (min 2 overs) will receive a 10 point bonus

Fielding
10 points for each catch taken and stumping.
20 points for sole run out (10 each if shared)
10 pt bonus for being involved in 3 catches / run-outs / stumpings

The IPL lawyers have been on the phone, and seemingly I am already in breach of IPL regulations.......

AFAIK, all the England internationals are leaving the IPL at the end of April. Not sure about the others.

also of concern is that the IPL are yet to publish the fixtures beyond the first 2 weeks, so it makes it hard to assess the impact of them leaving early if selecting England players

England players who are likely to be in WC squad will be leaving early.

I think the fixtures are being published tomorrow, but don't hold me to that

I have 2 completely separate teams lined up. Just waiting to see how badly having international players is likely to be affected by the fixture list
