Statistically Shakib and Tahir are probably the best spinners of the tournament, and then Nabi. But there are 13 quicks ahead of them in the wicket-taking column, and most have a better economy than all the spinners in the tournament bar Tahir and Afghanistan's line-up, weirdly.

Tahir, Nabi and Rahman are the only spinners to go for less than 5 an over in the tournament, and none have gone for under 29 per wicket.

Somehow Afghanistan have 2 spinners with an economy under 4.5, and still haven't won a game. And have 2 spinners with better returns than Rashid Khan, who I think it's fair to say has been found out when playing against test-playing teams.

I wouldn't say he's been found out exactly, just that there is a big difference between bowling 4 overs at the end of a T20 when batsmen are looking to take you on, and bowling 10 overs in the middle of a 50 over game where you can be milked around until a bad ball comes along.

I wouldn't say he's been found out exactly, just that there is a big difference between bowling 4 overs at the end of a T20 when batsmen are looking to take you on, and bowling 10 overs in the middle of a 50 over game where you can be milked around until a bad ball comes along.

His reputation wasn't 100% based on T20s. He was one of the top 3 ranked ODI bowlers in the world, and has an ODI average under 17.5 from around 55 ODIs.

Unfortunately over 45 of them were against Ireland, Zimbabwe and associate nations.

He's taken 5 wickets in 8 games this world cup, at a cost of 72 runs apiece and 5.9 rpo. Ouch.
