The search for sponsors for All New Fantasy League 2019 has proved to be more erratic than expected with manufacturing betraying their present anxiety and artisanal jam and Welsh lamb not proving sufficiently optimistic to step into the gap. Yet it has created an opportunity for one of the UK's newest public-private enterprises, the House of Commons Initiative Programme, brought to you by Carillion.

The winner of a prize draw arranged by the Speaker of the House of Commons, will attend the Lord's Test in the company of any currently living PM, or any presently employed Cabinet member. Normally it costs hundreds of thousands of pounds, dollars or roubles to get this preferential contact with those at the heart of the UK Government. Yet this could be free to one of our fortunate and privileged contestants.

The politician in question will only spend an hour in the world famous Lord's pavilion before visiting the TMS studio for one of Jonathan Agnew's hard hitting interrogations. But please be aware that a large donation to any particular party could easily mean a mention in the New Year honours. It really depends on how much you want it and how deep are your pockets. And note that if your party trashes the Long Room and abuses the staff, the Prime Minister's father will make good the damage and loss of goodwill with a cheque.

And onto the scores for this round. To which the only possible response is, I don't believe it:

Fix!

I demand a link to a spreadsheet or I'm off and I won't be back

just kidding (in poor taste, obviously)

keep up the fine work, Arthur :salute

don't let Boris bite you at Lords.... although he's been to enough of these freebies to know how to behave. Whatever happens, if he says he knows a good hairdresser, ignore him... if he says anything else, take it with a pinch of salt.... if he doesn't say anything at all, accept that he's probably been told not to say anything until after the 31st October in case he stuffs everything up

oh... and be grateful you won't have to sit to Jonny Mac and wee Jimmy Krankie necking on when they think no-one is looking....... that would be far too uncomfortable.... "get a blooming room"

That score was with Anderson as well. Though lots have people have Jimmy the Saint.

Brendy did well to swap Curran for Cummins. No Cummins and he'd have gone to his stand by, Warner.

Red looking menacing in fourth.

I've just found out I have a great chance of winning this - I have the same 5 as Red.

In the bag. Same first reserve too. Just you have Lyon vs Red's Pattinson as seventh pick.

Yes. I will happily accept that as the tie-breaker, should it come to that. (having Lyon well in the lead already)

There's a lot of very similar sides out there.

I think I need Stokes to have a complete 'mare in order to move up the leaderboard.

Going to be a lot of subs coming into play in round 2 for Jimmy, I think.

ironically, I made cummings my no.1 reserve, because I was worried about Starc, not Santiago. With Starc set to play at Lords that means my team will have shifted from an England bias to an Australian one..... which feels like the best outcome atm

not that that matters, of course, because Smith is going to dominate the whole series and I don't have him

When you realise archer was your first sub :joydance

But then realise with jimmy, starc and Pattinson in your 7 you only had 4 players playing and may have 3 at headingley if smith doesnt play :facepalm

There has been a regrettable delay in the publication of results from Lord's after the drawn second Test. This is because some of the work on All New Ashes Fantasy League has been carried out by the geniuses at Oxford Analytica and the results had to go before a Commons select committee. Here are your scores.

Cummins...189
Stokes...167

Archer...148
Broad...105
Woakes...104
Smith...102

Siddle...91
Hazlewood...87
Lyon...76
Denly...70
Buttler...63
Khawaja...58

Head...49
Bancroft...39
Root...24
Warner...8
Roy...2

A good Test for those picking pace bowlers. Please indicate any observable errors. Further updates when the Oxford Analytica interns turn up.
I always say that everybody's right.
