Had taken a gamble that such a tall fast bowler would not break for entire year. Have to say though that he scored lot of points in the first quarter of year which he played.
Test FL's - 8 , ODI and Tests Combo FL's - 1, ODI World Cup - 1, ODI FL's - 7, ODI and T20i combo FL's - 1 ,

Another low scoring week compared to what might have been expected - even with the antipodean precipitation.

Weekly

1. Simon Harmer - 144 - This is Simon Harmer....in his quiet period.....playing his least favourite format of the game....winning Cricketer of the Week for a record breaking 9th time.

2. Quinton De Kock - 133 - An impressive second placed finish considering the fact that QDK has played a game fewer than most.

3. Glenn Maxwell - 121 - A couple of Strike Rate boosted scores of 28 and 23 bolstered Maxwell's decent-ish week.

4. Ben Stokes - 98 - Mot a stand out week - however his 2-19 vs Afghanistan is worth noting...especially as that match will be more remembered for Sam Curran's exploits. MKoves up a place to 7th overall.

5. Moeen Ali - 82 - Here largely off the back of a 12 ball 24 that didn't quite get the job done against Ireland.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 5033 - Takes his lead on second place back up to 700+ points and is ticking along rather nicely in the CSA T20 Challenged. You feel he may be the first multiple Cricketer of the Year winner when all is done and dusted.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 4295 - Just 58 points scored this week - it seems like he is not using this World Cup campaign to push on to challenge for top spot. More a Mordaunt than a Sunak maybe?

3. Moeen Ali - 3615 - Not tearing up any roots in the World Cup but is quietly doing enough to ease his way back into the third place position he lost three weeks ago.

4. Babar Azam - 3544 - A misfiring World Cup campaign has seen Azam slide back down the table after the series against England saw him shoot back up. Hard to see where he will end up.

5. Quinton De Kock - 3226 - Really the only player from the T20 World Cup that can hold his head up in our overall Top 5. A second placed finish for the week and 477 points between him and sixth.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 201.32 (Down from 202.88)
2. Ben Stokes = 142 (Down from 144.2)
3. Babar Azam = 137.62 (Down from 141.76)

Yet again Babar Azam takes a massive slump this week. Has lost 8 points in the last month. Only two players improved their average - De Kock was by the largest margin of 0.88.

Weekly

1. Hasan Ali - 270 - Hasan has scored 82% of his points this year in red ball cricket but has played precious little. He has yet again shown what he can do with a stunning performance (surprisingly) with the bat in a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match this week. Up a place to 15th overall

2. Kane Williamson - 219 - Has played three times this week, which helps, but has looked more impressive in each outing, culminating in his 35 ball 61 against Ireland. After 23 weeks in bottom spot has finally got himself into 20th position this week.

3. Glenn Maxwell - 197 - One good performance can thrust you into the Top 5 during this World Cup, and such was the case for Maxi. His 32 ball 54 against Afghanistan (coupled with a twofer against Ireland) take him up to 6th spot overall - up 2 places from last week.

4. KL Rahul - 129 - Was facing extreme pressure from all and sundry up until his half century against Bangladesh. Moves up a place on the overall list, into 13th.

5. Mohammad Rizwan - 93 - Such has been the disappointment in Rizwan's performances this T20 World Cup, that it seems like 49 against the Netherlands might well be the high water mark of his campaign. Beats Bhanuka Rajapaksa out of the top 5 by a solitary point.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 5123 - Into the finals of the CSA T20 Challenge and has already picked up 325 bonus points from the competition. He very much benefits from the fact that the rest of the Top 4 are putting next to no pressure on him. They shared 118 points between them this week.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 5123 - Slightly improved rewards this week which sees him cut the lead to first down again. The good news he now has a 826 point cushion on third place.

3. Moeen Ali - 3620 - A measly 5 points this week in what has been a very odd campaign for Moeen. He does manage to hold onto third place for a second week however.

4. Babar Azam - 3588 - Lucky to have held onto fourth spot this week. Has scored 44 points from 4 T20 World Cup games.

5. Quinton De Kock - Another lean week from the South African but his 244 point gap in 5th should protect him for at least another week if he chooses not to fire again.

Ones To Watch

There are a number of T20 World Cup stars that are on the verge of overtaking the players above. Steve Smith is 13 points off a long inactive Kyle Jamieson whilst Rishabh Pant and Bhanuka Rajapaksa are 22 and 25 points off Glenn Maxwell and Kane Williamson respectively.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 197.04 (Down from 201.32)
2. Ben Stokes = 137.27 (Down from 142)
3. Babar Azam = 132.89 (Down from 137.62)

Travis Head's 10 points this week sees his average drop by 5.19 points. He now has the fourth worst average at 93.06 points an active week. Kane Williamson's average improved the most but at 67.95 points it is still the lowest of our 21 players.

Weekly

1. Hasan Ali - 241 - If you can play red ball cricket whilst all around you are losing their (points), you will be Hasan, my son. Well in the points in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy again - it should be noted that this total is from 2 games, however. Up 3 places to 12th overall.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 149 - Pakistan's sharp uptick in form has coincided with his team's improvement and heroic rise to the final. Only just in the Top 5 last week, well in this.

3. Babar Azam - 128 - Looking more like his normal self this week courtesy of 78 runs spread across 2 games. Could he cap it all off with a final to remember?

4. KL Rahul - 96 - Too little too late for KLR. Two half centuries were rounded off with a flop against England and exit from the T20 World Cup. To cap this off he went backwards on the overall table despite finishing 4th for the week.

5. Ben Stokes - 92 - Had one of his better outings against Sri Lanka in the final group stage game and was surplus to requirements in the India game. Just pops into the Top 5.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 5133 - Just 10 points from a catch in the CSA T20 Challenge final this time out. Still has a half a thousand point lead on second place.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 4595 - Hard to know what to say about Rizwan anymore. Still a long way off first - albeit with a Test series against England up-coming - but a HUGE gulf between him and third.

3. Babar Azam - 3716 - A couple of decent performances and he comes back into the Top 3 after a fortnight away.

4. Moeen Ali - 3621 - It has been an underwhelming T20 World Cup campaign from Moeen. He has scored 88 points across the whole tournament and is now down to 4th once more.

5. Quinton De Kock - 3493 - Started the T20 World Cup in good form but completely faded away, should feel lucky that those just below him did not come to the party either. He holds 5th place for the 5th consecutive week.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 190.11 (Down from 197.04)
2. Ben Stokes = 135.3 (Down from 137.27)
3. Babar Azam = 132.7 (Down from 132.89)

Simon Harmer's average takes a 6.93 dip in a week where 9 players leaked points. Three players went up but Hasan Ali's improvement of 5.87 points, up to 106.17 points a week, was the highest.

After fracturing his leg in a strange accident at a friend's 50th birthday party on Saturday night, Glenn Maxwell could be sidelined for three months.

:no

Who on earth slips in the garden, breaks his leg and is laid up for several months?! Apparently it's me and Maxi! Hope his recovery is better, been 2 years for me and still is probably only about 80%

Weekly

1. Steve Smith - 130 - The first time he has been Cricketer of the Week since November 2020. That two years have seen Smith underwhelm on our List....and in the real world too. A classy 80 in the first ODI between Australia and England also puts him up a place to 18th overall.

2. David Warner - 126 - Always at his combative best against the old enemy (TM). 86 runs at an adequate lick sees him into second place. Still 2 more to play for him so could be one to watch if he's in good form.

3. Ben Stokes - 122 - Sometimes a performance feels like it should be worth Cricketer of the Week and Stokes' definitely felt like that...but instead he only reaches a 'paltry' third place. Sure he'll be cut up.

4. Travis Head - 109 - We don't get Head often but can sometimes be worth waiting for. His 19 active weeks this year is joint second lowest alongside Rajapaksa but he turns it on when he's in yellow. Interesting to see how he progresses as an opener. Has become the List's highest One Day point scorer this week.

5. Pat Cummins - 80 - A good start to his spell as Australian ODI captain and his first appearance in the Top 5 since mid-June. Is a long way adrift of Top Ten but could force an Antipodean Summer onslaught.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 5193 - Harmer's return to First Class cricket did not yield huge point this week but still keeps the very distant wolf from the door.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 4620 - A disappointing performance in the final capped off a mixed bag of a World Cup for Rizwan. Is a huge 852 points off third place.

3. Babar Azam - 3768 - Would have hoped for more from himself across the World Cup and he failed to make any significant movement up the List. Holds third for the third week.

4. Moeen Ali - 3460 - A less impactful player to have played all the games of a World Cup would be hard to muster.... still manages to keep his 4th place spot for a third week in a row.

5. Quinton De Kock - 3493 - Inactive this week but, with absolutely zero pressure below him and a gap of 258 points, he can probably put his feet up for a bit.

Ones To Watch

The biggest tussle between active players over the next 7 days is between KL Rahul and David Warner. There is just two points between them and they both have two games (albeit in different formats) over the week. Who will score more?

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 185.46 (Down from 190.11)
2. Ben Stokes = 124.86 (Down from 135.3)
3. Babar Azam = 129.93 (Down from 132.7)

Harmer's average continues to descend. He has leaked 10 points over the last fortnight. Steve Smith's average improves the most - up 2.99 to 83.2.
