Hold on, here we go again...

Feel free to pick 5 players from the two countries (a mix of the two, or 5 from one country - it's up to you), and two reserve players just in case one of the chosen 5 does not play. The first reserve player picked will come into contention first.

Scoring

Batting

1 point per run.
+10 for a score of 50.
+10 for every further increment of 50 scored.
If a batsman is not out after 50 = +10, after 100 = +15, after 200 = +25 etc....

Fielding

10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each, if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs

Bowling

20 points per wicket
2 points per maiden over
+10 for 5 wickets in the match
+20 for 5 wickets in an innings
+30 for 10 wickets in the match
+50 for 10 wickets in an innings
+30 for a hat trick

In the event of a concussion substitution, the participant gets the next available sub in their submitted team, to take effect in the next innings of the match.

Terms and conditions apply.

Durhamfootman won last time down under. With the trio of Reds in places 2-4.

But the holder of the FL Ashes is Alfie, who held off... a duo of Reds.

Last time was damaged by covid concerns. So not everything in life is getting worse.

Feel free to revise your selections as England pace bowlers pick up injuries.

This is the England squad.

Crawley/Duckett/Pope/Bethell/Root/ Brook/Stokes/Jacks/Smith
Archer/Atkinson/Carse/Potts/Tongue/Wood/Bashir

I'm thinking of trying the double points for your favoured pick again.

Any views?

I'm going with the gimmick of a skipper who earns double points. So mark one of your selections with an asterisk. Lack of a choice means I'll elect the first named pick.

Probably provisional.

Hazlewood*
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Atkinson

Root
Boland

Chance of a pace bowler playing in every game is probably small... And Hazlewood even less.

IIRC I had Root as skipper by default because I forgot to indicate a preference and I won, so when I do get around to entering a team my skipper will be Honest Joe

maybe ask for a skip for each match and keep the existing skip if anyone forgets? I believe they do this in fantasy football
