How about a 500 point bonus for correctly predicting the team that will win it? :dunno We could all add our team to win it under our fantasy league teams.

Might be a good idea but I think 500 points would be way too many. This would allow someone who was not so skilful with their selections to be able to leapfrog someone to the title who has picked his/her players shrewdly but the latter losing out on the basis they didn't pick the right team to win. I would say 25 points would be adequate.

How about 100 points?

T20 was always higher for a wicket I believe.

As there is discussion of doing Womens Twenty20 Fantasy Leagues, I have raised that the Twenty20 points system is not compatible for the womens game due to it's more sedate nature.

For example a 120 innings score is often a defendable total or not an easy chase. In turn a batting strike of 100 is considered to be decent, whilst a bowling economy rate of 6 is the norm.

Here is what I propose

Batting

For every run scored 1 point
If a batsman scores 25 she will get additional 10 points
+10 for every further increment of 25 scored
Someone who has a strike rate of of above 100 will get additional 10pts, above 125 additional 20pts and above 150 additional 30pts provided the batsman has scored at least 15 runs.

+10 bonus points for every six scored

Bowling

25 pts per wicket plus
5 points bonus for maiden over
10 pt bonus for a 2fer
20 pt bonus for a 4fer
If a bowler has an economy rate of <=4.0 and has bowled at least 2 overs, she will receive a 30 point bonus
If a bowler has an economy rate of<=5.0 and has bowled at least 2 overs, she will receive a 20 point bonus.
If a bowler has an economy rate of <=6.0 and has bowled at least 2 overs, she will receive a 10 point bonus

Fielding

10 points for each catch taken and stumping.
20 points for sole run out (10 each if shared)
10 pt bonus for being involved in 3 catches / run-outs / stumpings

looks ok - I'm not that up on the womens game so assume the calibration is about right.

However, the +10 for each 6 because turns one shot into 16 points plus the SR boost that's likely - a likely 26 points for one shot seems a bit much. I'd leave it since they already score 6 and get the SR boost.

yep... I'm not sure about the 10points for a 6 either

the rest of it seems pretty reasonable

why don't you run a Womens WT20 FL, AP.... try it out ahead of the domestic season

Fair point - just that sixes are novelty in womens cricket and I feel they deserve to be recognised.

I have gone through most scores in the 2014 ICC Womens World Twenty20 tournament plus sub-continent WT20i scores in 2015 and have made further amendments to bonus points, most notably batting strike-rates. My conclusion is runs are not that easy to come by, hence lowering the strike-rate threshold.

WT20i match records of 2015
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/women/eng ... ;type=year

Batting
For every run scored 1 point
If a batsman scores 25 she will get additional 10 points
+10 for every further increment of 25 scored
Someone who has a strike rate of of above 80 will get additional 10pts, above 100 additional 20pts and above 133 additional 30pts provided the batsman has scored at least 15 runs.

I plan to launch the World T20 tournament early in the coming week.
