JD would be my next choice.

that's cheating.... no 4th choices allowed.

If I had a fourth choice. Just sending a message out to JD that he's not forgotten.

I wonder if Swann thought about keeping going for this. He seems to think he can play T20.

I heard his elbow is troubling him again after all the hours he's spent typing his memoirs.

Broad, KP, Morgan.

A few others named above, even though they might be good at county level, are unproven at international level and considering the tourney is in B'Desh, have a smaller chance of succeeding. Players like Hales, Bopara, would do better but ones like Buttler who have limited to no experience esp in sub continent as well as into level may not take Eng to victory. Players like KP, Morgan have the experience and maturity which is read in tight situations.

there are county players who have played in the BPL, of course, so have experienced conditions all around the country

Stevens, Liddle, Azhar Mahmood, Ervine,Moeen, Mustard,Kabir and Dimi are the ones i remember having played in BPL 2013.However, only Moeen is there in the 30's squad. I think Luke played about 2 - 3 matches last year in BPL, did he :?:

Mustard has played 2 seasons of BPL, I think, for the burners. he started off as a middle order bat only, but quickly took the gloves off the original keeper and batted top order. I'd have Buttler in the same side as Mustard, but I'd give the colonel the gloves. He's a competent keeper who has kept for about 8 years......... he isn't still learning how to keep.

Agree to a certain extent, but if you want to select 3 players whose names will be the first on the team sheet, surely you'll go for proven, experienced players who have played in that region, are big match players, have proven intl records and could be banked upon to take Eng to victory? Not that they will but would certainly have a higher chance than newcomers?

Swann (if only)
Patel
Giles/Illingworth/Emburey/Edmonds (Tufnell and Underwood would have been considered but for their batting ;) )
