Economically (I've read), the north starts in a line from Worcester to Lincoln, so maybe the ECB are following that theory.

I'd have to drive south for 3 hours without stopping to get to Northants, which I'm pretty sure is less than 100 miles from London. Took a good couple of hours to get back from Chatsworth the other week
