but really let themselves down with the loss of the first two batsmen. Khwaja and Warner looked great and it looked to me that everyone else thought they could carry on where those two left off - that and the Sixers bowlers started bowling to the conditions better.

Considering the start the first two gave - close on 12 an over from the first 10 overs - a disappointing result for the Thunder.

An extremely disappointing result for the Thunder in the end. They seemed to fall in a hole after the first two went out. Mike Hussey and Eoin Morgan, forming the heart of the batting did absolutely nothing, and their bowling was poor, really poor. Michael Clarke was at the ground but didn't play, which i thought was a bit odd given Dave Warner was out there. At full strength, tonight was their best chance of winning a game in 2 years! Based on what I saw tonight, I don't know where they will get their next win from, or how. With such a weak bowling attack, arguably the weakest in the comp, the batsmen are going to have to deliver, especially the likes of Hussey, Morgan, Woakes, Khawaja and Ryan Carters. Anything less than 180 and they're in trouble. Nannes is still decent, but can't possibly be the force he once was in this format. Gurinder Sandhu will need to step up big time. The rest of the bowlers are just awful.

Is it only me that finds it odd the test players are playing BBL mid-series ?? and would they be allowed if the series was still in the balance ?

Yeah, i find it quite odd. I highly doubt they'd be playing if they hadn't won already.

No, it was only after the win in Perth that the players were released - and it was only Warner, Bailey and Smith. Not sure why that is.

Clarke was at last night's game, in his Thunder colours, supporting the team, but is heading to Melbourne this morning, as are the rest of the team. So I don't think that there will be anymore involvement of the test players after Bailey's game this afternoon in Hobart.

The Renegades are going to fail to chase down 117. Rubbish, absolutly rubbish. :no

The Sydney Thunder look like they might win a game! Mike Hussey and Eoin Morgan are at the crease chasing another... actually scratch that. Morgan just went out. Game on though. Sydney still very much in this. No Usman Khawaja tonight. Not sure what the story is there.

And.... the Sydney Thunder have fluffed it. They had victory within reach, and they fluffed it. Had Eoin Morgan not gone out, the Thunder would have won comfortably, but once he fell... The best chance this team will have of getting a win will be against the Melbourne Renegades. A disappointing finish for the Thunder after yet another Mike Hussey masterclass. The Aussies could have done with him today in Melbourne. Him and Haddin could have put on 300 odd... ah well. Next.

Hussey goes to a high, high, high hit off the second last ball of the innings. Had it gone for six, it would have tied up the game with a ball to play. He was out for 85 - fantastic innings by Mr Cricket.

Thunder lose yet again - by 6 runs.

Khawaja strained his hammy last game.

The Heat have had a great innings, setting the record score in the BBL - 209. Hobart will need to be on fire to go close, but the 4 wides first ball from Hauritz will help - just as the Hobart bowlers helped the Brisbane score dramatically with some of their wayward bowling.

halfway through, Hobart are more than halfway through the total - 114 from 210. Just got to keep it going. Dunk is still going, but brought his 50 up off 20 balls - the fastest ever in this comp.
