have to admit i disagree with a few things there mate...

I wouldnt say the stars over-achieved....given their squad id say they under-achieved again...

also think its harsh to say Carter's stock dropped...kept well, had a few good knocks, didnt do much wrong..

also Bresnan wasn't bad....got his yorkers in, did ok

just my opinon lol.

I guess I've suggested that the Stars over achieved because I don't rate their bowling attack as high as other attacks in the league. We didn't have Malinga this time, or any other foreign bowler. Jackson Bird I do rate highly, but Michael Beer I don't rate at all, although having said that, Beer actually did pretty well. Scott Boland is average, although John Hastings is actually pretty decent. Clint McKay seems to be in decline, and only came into the side when James Faulkner was drafted into the national ODI squad.

In terms of results, we were lucky to get the win over the Sydney Sixers and the Perth Scorchers, and almost blew the second game against the Renegades, after blowing them away a week earlier. Having lost Matthew Wade in the off season, and losing David Hussey pre season, I wasn't expecting a top four finish. Therefore finishing third was an over achievement, IMHO.

Going forward, we need to replace Luke Wright with a quality international bowler and Clint McKay needs to turn back the clock.
