"The Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Tridents, St Lucia Zouks and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have today confirmed changes to their squads for this year’s Hero CPL. Lasith Malinga, who has been ruled out of the competition after picking up an injury, will be replaced by Marchant de Lange for the Amazon Warriors, while Jeevan Mendis will replace Justin Ontong, who requires a knee operation, in the Tridents squad. Shane Dowrich will replace the injured Nicholas Pooran in the Patriots squad, while international duty means that Shakib Al Hasan will be replaced by, first Eddie Leie, and then Nathan McCullum. Pakistan international batsman, Umar Akmal, and South African all-rounder, David Wiese, will join the Amazon Warriors as mid-tournament replacements for Tillakaratne Dilshan and Thisara Perera, who have both been called up for international duty."

What happened to the team that was based in Antigua, Mike? Given that Viv's paddock hosted the Stanford fixtures, I'd have thought it would have been a hot bed for T20. Perhaps they could reappear at some point, along with a franchise based in Florida. I like how the draft system works in this comp, by the way. Other T20 leagues should operate with the same system.

St Kitts offered better funding than Antigua so they took over the leeward islands franchise.

Smith hit a run a ball half century and Robin Peterson once again took 3-26.

Gabriel destroyed st Kitts with 3-19...only Samuels offered any resistance with 52 not out from 37 balls.

Charles hammered 67 not out from 49 balls for a victory margin of more than four overs while Fletcher hit a quick-fire 48.

I've gotten up to watch this today... and it's raining. Instead, Fox are showing a replay of the Oz- NZ group game at the WC... which is just great. I have enjoyed watching the CPL, which has some good players featuring, and plenty of mediocre ones. It seems to be a hit with the crowds over there. If the WICB manage this right, it might just save the West Indies.

or it could replace West Indies cricket....

Despite a fighting 82 from 58 balls from Pollard, Barbados lost by one run off the final ball to St Kitts, with Cottrell and tanvir doing the early damage with two wickets each.

Outstanding bowling fielding and catching by Jamaica...theron 3-19 santokie 3-24 and Taylor 2-17 restricted st Lucia to 117-9.

Jamaica won the match by ten wickets, with ten overs to spare, with Gayle hitting 90 not out from just 36 balls, including nine sixes and six boundaries!
