How does Finch deserve to be in that side? Not sure what Faulkner is doing currently either.

Finch averages 41 in T20Is (only bettered by Kohli) and has a strike rate of 151. In this year's BBL, Finch averaged 49 with a strike rate of 143. Only an idiot wouldn't pick Finch.

As for Faulkner, he is really struggling but i don't think it would be wise for Australia to drop their only experienced and proven world class T20 bowler.

And what are his numbers without that hugely inflating 140 odd vs England? T20I stats can't really be read much into. T20Is are too few and far between. His record in the IPL in India (which is where the tournament will be played) is utterly abysmal. He struggles against spin.

And Faulkner is a "proven world class T20 bowler"? Really? Where and when did he prove that? TBH, I've never really rated his bowling highly, it was his lower order batting in ODIs and his ability to finish games that quietly glossed over his mediocrity with the ball as he offered a good all round package. Right now, he is struggling terribly in both the departments. His experience makes him tempting but he really needs to do something tomorrow or in the NZ ODI series. Not sure how he can justify his spot if the current situation continues.

Finch would still average 35.90 without his 156 v England. He has also played 6 T20Is in Asia where he averages 42.

Faulkner has 140 T20 wickets at 23 which is pretty good i reckon. Certainly more proven than their other options.

Faulkner has been absolutely dismal in the IPL over the last couple of seasons. His bowling at int'l level has been nothing special. Decent, yes but definitely not world class. Not good enough to ignore such a dip in form certainly. As far as Finch is concerned, again I wouldn't look into stats. He usually gets 1 big score a series sandwiched between large periods of mediocrity. And the worst part is, on his bad days, he doesn't even get out early. He merely wastes a lot of deliveries.

Brisbane Enquirer might be interested to hear that England's tall medium pacer is due to play for Hobart in the BBL this new year.

Is he? How does he go in the hit'n'giggle?

The Brisbane Enquirer will be also interested in why they changed their name from The Courier Mail (or Curious Smell to some).

Got the name of the paper a bit wrong. That can happen.

Tall MP was once England's T20 captain. There is no higher honour.

Popular in Tasmania of course.

Facetiousness apart, he hasn't been missed by England and he doesn't play for his county. Article I saw said he's hoping to use it as a passage back into England's 50 over side.
