has the tournament got a lot bigger this year? It looks as though there are many more fixtures, unless I'm being a bit dim

Same number of games. The current tv deal has 2 more years left, I think. After that, I'd like to think that we will see two expansion teams; the Canberra Comets and possibly the Gold Coast Dolphins, or Sharks, or some other form of marine life, or some tacky reference to the sun, or surf. A 10 team T20 comp would work well in Australia.

I'm puzzled, because this fixture list suggests that each team is playing 14 matches
http://www.bigbash.com.au/fixture

whilst this one suggests 8 matches
http://www.espncricinfo.com/big-bash-le ... e=fixtures

That first link you posted shows 8 matches, not 14.

well, clearly I'm missing something, or, more likely, I'm just being very, very dim, because I can count each team 14 times on that list.... unless some are duplicated, or includes women teams, or something.

However, I am now reassured that the crapinfo list is correct, and it is 8 matches per team

I can go back to being a half wit again, instead of the quarter wit that I was becoming.

Good signing if I say so myself.

Would like to see a team take a punt on Gary Ballance.

won't be long before I'll have to get the FL up and running.

I always like the BBL, because once it's finished, spring feels as though it's not too far away, in Blighty

Adil Rashid signs up for a 2nd spell with the Adelaide Strikers. His 1st spell back in 2010/11, Rashid was the joint leading wicket-taker with 14 (IIRC)
