Low totals often seem to cause problems for the chasing side.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

We might have had the smallest of small chances had Vince hit the stumps when attempting to run Brown out.

Four trips to Finals Day at Edgbaston, four SF defeats - with all three trips over the last three years seeing us put in quite awful batting performances. (Two Finals Day trips to places other than Edgbaston, two competitions wins).

Please let Willey hit a few early doors. Might be the only chance of seeing some decent runs scored in the final.

They managed to get in, but couldn't really force the pace. It is certainly a pitch you can stay in on but quick scoring seems problematic.

Laurie Evans didn't have much of a problem during his brief stay.

Northants bowl. That's the title then.

Too much "poor batting" going on for it to actually be "poor batting", in my book. What was the one thing Levi and Vince had in common? They opened up the innings. They were able to face to ball when it was at it's hardest, face (generally) the quicks to get their inning going, and have the luxury of the powerplay to start with.

And despite all of that, neither man played their usual innings. I don't think I've ever seen Levi play so sedate (but absolutely fair play to him, it won his team the game.)

He batted against one over of pace - and had free license to attack every ball, at that.

Lancs making the most of the powerplay which seems essential on this pitch.

This is the one thing that annoys me about Croft as Captain. You've got Jos Butter and the Faulk sitting on the bench and you keep them back with half the overs gone.

He did this against Kent and nearly lost us the game.

Northants back in this now.

Actually an excellent innings from Prince. This is exactly what he is in the side to do.
