It was the scheduling of the women's test that caused this. The test was at Canterbury all week so Kent had to have the Saturday game. Worcs would almost certainly have had the day game if that slot was available.

Couldn't they have played both on Saturday?

Easily, or even one on Sunday.

Sunday would have been a no-go, because us and Worcs are both in one-day action on Monday. They'd have been no reserve day, so if the rain had washed Sunday out, the game would have had to go straight to a bowl-off. Which nobody would have wanted (and would have looked even worse for the competition than yesterday did).
