In the opening match on Friday, Trinbago Knight Riders crushed St Lucia in front of a packed crowd at Castries by nine wickets with more than nine overs to spare. Shadab Khan took 2-15 and Dwayne Bravo 2-23 to rout the home team for 132-9, only Andre Fletcher and Kyle Mayers getting into the 20s. Sunil Narine was out for a duck to Jerome Taylor, but Brendan McCullum hit 58 not out from 27 balls, and Colin Munro 63 not out from 39 balls to carry the visitors to victory.

In the first match on Saturday, St Kitts edged Guyana by four wickets in front of a moderate crowd in Fort Lauderdale. sheldon Cottrell took 2-18 and Hassan Ali 2-19 to restrict Guyana to 123-7, for whom Chadwick Walton hit 60 from 51 balls. Steven Jacobs took 2-23 and Rayad Emrit 2-14 to make St Kitts work hard for the target, which they achieved thanks largely to knocks of 31 from Carlos Brathwaite and 29 not out from Jonathan Carter.

If no Leewards players featured in that round-up, that's because only one of them played for St Kitts - Devon Thomas. The St Kitts team featured three foreigners and three Jamaicans, while Guyana had four foreigners, three locals, and two Jamaicans.

On Thursday, in front of a mediocre crowd at Beausejour, Barbados romped to a 21-run win over St Lucia on D/L after rain affected the match. Kieran Pollard hammered 82 not out from just 35 balls, and he was supported by Dwayne Smith (36 from 27) and Kane Williamson (46 from 44), as Barbados piled up 195-4. Medium pacer Kyle Mayers took 2-30.

Pacer Wayne Parnell took 3-28 to restrict the hosts to 129-6 when rain stopped play. Captain Darren Sammy hit 60 not out from just 29 balls, but wickets fell around him.
