A total of 1122 players have registered for the Indian Premier League auction set to be held on January 27 and 28 in Bangalore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Saturday (January 13). England's Test captain Joe Root also thrown his hat into the ring with a total of 282 overseas players hoping to earn a contract.

A total of 26 players from England, 58 from Australia, 30 from New Zealand and 57 from South Africa have registered for the auction. Afghanistan too will see 13 players in the list while there are as many as 39 players from Sri Lanka. 39 players from Windies too have entered the auction.

Gautam Gambhir in auctions. Won IPL twice for KKR. Also a successful IPL opener. He will be the most bid player from the Indian players in auction imo.

Riki Wessels dosen't make the cut for auction again...suprised given his form in t20 blast over last few seasons..

Delhi, KKR, Punjab will most probably look for Indian captain. Options are Ajinkya, Gauti, Uthappa, Ashwin, Vijay.

Ricky Ponting coming to India for auctions. Fleming and Vettori who are with Stars and Heat respectively in Big Bash will also be in India soon.

I think Mumbai will use one Right To Match card for Krunal Pandya. Not sure where we will use other RTM.

Gayle unsold today. Might get a bid tomorrow. Clearly franchisees think they have better options than him.
