Gayle, Joe, Guptill, Vijay, Amla, Faulkner all unsold so far at halftime during auction of day 1 of 2. Will be up for auction tomorrow though in 2nd round. Most of them making mistakes of setting their base price of 2 cr. The wise ones have set their base prices lower to get into the auction bidding.


RCB have gone for all rounders. CDG, Woakes, Moeen and Stoinis in their team now.

Mumbai are are slow, but there is still lot of auction times left and will be active for sure. Pollard is with Mumbai as Mumbai have used Right To match card for him.

CSK retain Bravo, however Ashwin moves to Kings 11 Punjab. Harbhajan is replacement buy for Ashwin.

RCB have invested wisely in Blackcaps cult hero and Box Office sensation, Colin de Grandhomme for 220 lakhs

Ponting, Kallis, Moody, Jayawardene, Vettori, Fleming all at auction table.

Expect Ponting to get Darcy Short for DD.

Watson is now with CSK, so RCB now have his replacement in CDG, Stoinis and Woakes. Moeen Ali is also there but he wont be a like for like replacement.

He flopped very badly for RCB last year. So neither was he retained nor Right To Match card was used. They have instead opted for Big Mac, who i think is very like to like replacement for Gayle considering RCB didnt bowl him much last IPL. Big Mac is a gun fielder too.

Dont think they dropped him because of age. Big Mac and Watson are aged too now. Both are in RCB this year.

Someone may pick Gayle tomorrow at his base price though in second round. Amla too might get a bid at base price.

Ponting tried hard in mini bidding war, but Darcy is finally sold to Rajasthan Royals. Steve Smith probably suggested this.

Darcy and Jofra gets picked by Rajasthan.

RCB has a weak bowling attack this year as well. They need to add some good bowlers in auction tomorrow.

Mumbai add Cummins and Fizz to the bowling attack.
