they couldn't get Ferguson and he scored more than the rest of his team put together. A one man reply

can't expect to give away 14 extras and win a low scoring match

we could have had Gloucs, if Tahir had turned up in time :no

tomorrow will be an interesting game, assuming it goes ahead.

Somerset have been the stand out team of the tournament and have rarely looked troubled at any stage of the comp, but Notts came through late, are packed to the brim with dangerous players and have lots of momentum

it'll be fascinating..... I hope

I could be wrong but have a feeling that the reserve day is only a last resort so if it's possible to have a 5 over game tomorrow they'll do it.

thinking about it, you are almost certainly right. The Women's SL semi and final are on Monday, so the telly will want some sort of QF tomorrow... even if it makes a mockery of it

As they're selling tickets - both ground and TV - for tomorrow, then you can bank on this.
You can tell who is 'running' the timetable, according to when the games are being played...

Scheduling T20 QFs on Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon (a bank holiday to boot!) would make much more sense for both players and supporters- with all teams having at least 1 or 2 days off between possible Championship and T20 games - than this year's calendar appears to allow:

4 day Championship games Sun-Wed
T20 QFs: Thu/Fri evening & Sat/Sun afternoon
4 day Championship games Wed-Sat

As it happened: Kent v Lancs T20 QF was played the day after both were scheduled to finish a 4-day game!

However, he who pays the piper calls the tune!

Thursday night football is a Europa League play-off - Live on BT Sport - so Sky need something to 'put up against it' - on their Main Event channel. T20 QF1 is therefore planned for a Thursday evening.
MNF is Manchester United v Tottenham (the biggest game of the weekend) - LIve on Sky Sports - so naturally Sky want to keep their schedule free for that.

Friday night, Saturday evening, Sunday & Monday afternoon - seems ideal to me. Maybe with a proviso that (the longest travelling away team) Sussex are not given a Friday night match in (the furthest distance away) Durham!

If it was down to the counties wanting to get bums-on-seats - having only known the fixtures since Aug 17th - then I'd bet BH Mon afternoon would be their preferred option...

Didn't think of the Ladies, but principle remains the same. Sky schedule the matches when they want to show them- not when the public want to watch them!

Light rain predicted in Taunton all day. Maybe they'll just play through the rainfall?

match abandoned for the day

that'll ssip the Sky bods off... can't compete with the other hundred pay per view broadcasters by showing rain falling and having to endure watching and not just listening to Nick Knight talking his usual old nonsense..... "I'm not sure it's going to stop!"

surely they could have reduced the match to a meaningful one ball bowl off in the nets, that still honours the current ECB commitment to the game in it's highest form..... clearly somebody wasn't trying hard enough to make this match happen.... they'll have to knock a couple of mill off the next broadcasting rights deal in retribution

According to The Times, the four counties at finals day could have only 500 tickets each to sell to members/supporters because the rest of the ground was sold out in advance.

Notts bowling first after winning the toss at Taunton. The weather forecast looks good so they should get a full game in.
