If buttler was taking liberties stealing ground then fair enough but dont agree with it in this situation

Technically a dead ball as per laws 41.16 state.

"If the bowler fails in an attempt to run out the non-striker (since Buttler was in the crease at the point of delivery), the umpire shall call and signal Dead Ball as soon as possible".

The tournament should be boycotted, with Ashley Giles ripping up No Objection Certificates and ordering participating England players to report to their counties immediately.

It seems the 3rd umpire has had shocker here, though Ashwin still does not look good for his actions.

Kings XI Punjab changed the winning team for their second game. Left out Curran, Mujeeb and Rajpoot who took 6 wickets in the last 4 overs. Each bowler got 2 wickets. RR lost 7 wickets for 24 runs in those overs so I was glad to see Kings XI beaten in their second game.

Mumbai needs to get rid of Pollard. Once a top T20 player, he has struggled in IPL in last couple of seasons for us. Now he can win the rare match with the bat. Does not bowls as well in last few seasons. Evin Lewis is a much better batsman than Pollard even though he is made to bat in middle order. We are wasting a spot there. Poor captaincy and team selection by MI management and coaches. International batsmen bench / backup for MI in batting is weak.

Quinton has done well for Mumbai this year as opener. We needed a more consistent international opener than Evin Lewis has been for us and he has done well so far. Rohit opening innings this full IPL season is a very good move.

The positive though is that we have won 1 out of 3 matches. Usually we start poorly and lose all 3,4,5 initial matches.A better start this time.

2011 (Champions League), 2013 (IPL win) , 2015 (IPL win) , 2017 (IPL win). Given that, will 2019 be our time again.


The controversy of mankading of Jos Buttler is doing rounds on social media and Ashwin has taken lot of stick by all fans. Personally ICC should allow:

1. The runner to stand near the batsman.
2. The Mankading rule to be scrapped.
3. Give a longer bat to runner so that the batsmen can run 2 instead of 1 and 3 instead of 2's.

When bowler oversteps by even 1 cm he is give no-ball. But a batsman is allowed to take advantage of 1 metre following up at runners end. A free hit for no-ball. Next would be allow runner to stand near batsman or half way of the wicket so the singles are taken easily.
