Matthews gets a score - 62 off 36! West Indies are flying at 98/1 after 10.

Good for England, because even if Sri Lanka can pull off what is looking like a very tough run chase, they're not going to do it in a few overs, so they won't get much NRR boost. Means England will need to be utterly thrashed by West Indies to fail to qualify.

And the second game goes to form. It was always unlikely SL were going to chase 180+, so England and West Indies qualify for the knockouts.

So we have four relatively meaningless games before the semis - two dead rubbers to determine the location of the wooden spoon in each group, and two games between the top two teams of each group to determine who gets to win the group.

At this stage, Australia look like favourites for the title to me. I can't see England getting there unless they lift their game.

The top four teams are way ahead of the rest of the field....

It's good to see the West Indies coming good with the bat, but IMHO they're the team that has the most brittle batting line-up in the semis. They've a good bowling and fielding outfit, though.

Matthews, Dottin and Taylor need to get them off to as good a start as they did against Sri Lanka. Otherwise, it could be a difficult semi.

I have no idea what Australia are up to... changing their batting order around.... well I do know, but it feels dangerous

Australia in big trouble. I wonder if Healy is injured?

Healy got concussion after a horrible collision with Schutt trying to take a catch. Lanning disappointed again.
:no

thanks Mike

Aus a one man team?

just kidding. Bit of a hiding today, yet India only managed one meaningful partnership themselves

Looked as if Australia were never in the chase, but batting with only 10, and without one of the best T20 batters around at the moment, was always going to make life difficult.

Ireland turn up to their third successive tournament and fail to register a single point.

It is almost as if being woefully underfunded and playing a handful handfull of games in a year hampers your progress.

115-8

not normally a challenging target for WI

I had a feeling Hazell would play today... getting her ready for the semi's. Aus in particular didn't like spin that much

Tight game, but England have seemed to me to be a bit sub-par with the bat and in the field all tournament. I can't see them getting through the semi, and I think that would be a fair reflection - 4th best in the world.

It's T20, so there's never a foregone conclusion, but I think England will have to play a blinder to beat India.
