There's the small matter of the WC final - not to mention a round of CC matches - to come first, but it all starts again at Lords on Thursday.

This is the final season of course that the Blast will be the shortest format.

TIMINGS

Group stage: 18 July - 30 August
QFs: 4 Sep - 7 Sep
Finals Day: 21 Sep

England's six tests this summer pretty much run directly alongside, from 24 July to 16 September, so don't expect the test players to be involved prior to Finals Day.

ODDS

Notts 7/1
Surrey 7/1
Sussex 7/1
Hants 9/1
Lancs 10/1
Somerset 12/1
Yorks 12/1
Birmingham 14/1
Kent 14/1
Middlesex 14/1
Worcs 14/1
Essex 16/1
Glamorgan 20/1
Northants 20/1
Durham 25/1
Gloucs 25/1
Derby 33/1
Leicester 33/1

OVERSEAS

To the best of my knowledge (happy to be corrected), the situation is as follows:

Birmingham - Agar, Patel
Derby- Van Beek, Stanlake
Durham - Short, Bancroft (presumably subject to possible Ashes selection)
Essex - Siddle (presumably subject to possible Ashes selection), Zampa
Glamorgan - Two from M Marsh/S Marsh/Labuschagne (presumably all subject to possible Ashes selection, and injury to S Marsh)
Gloucs - Klinger, Tye
Hants - Morris [no second player - Rahane due to finish this week]
Kent - Milne, Nabi
Lancs - Faulkner, Maxwell (presumably subject to possible Ashes selection)
Leicester - Abbas [no second player]
Middlesex - ABDV, Mujeeb
Northants - Ashraf, Pretorius
Notts - Christian [no second player - it doesn't appear that Ashwin will play t20]
Somerset - Azam, Jerome Taylor
Surrey - Finch (presumably subject to possible Ashes selection) [no other player - it doesn't appear that Elgar will play t20]
Sussex - Carey (presumably subject to possible Ashes selection), Khan
Worcs - Ferguson, Guptil
Yorks - Pooran [no second player - it doesn't appear that Maharaj will play t20]

If Sussex have Carey and Archer both available, to go alongside the likes of Wright, Jordan, Khan and Briggs, they could be quite difficult to stop. But will Carey and Archer be otherwise engaged in the Ashes?

If they're not available, a Somerset double (or even treble) could be on.

That's a lot of Aussies over here.

So that's counties that don't have hundred franchises!

Bancroft, Carey, Labuschagne, M Marsh and Siddle all in Australia's 25 man squad for the Australia v Australia A game the week after next. No Finch or Maxwell.

As of two weeks ago, Morris was our only t20 player. The subsequent injuries, particularly to Alsop, might have changed our mind on that though.

It was certainly discussed that we might look to get Markram back after the WC, if both parties are up for it, but I don't think anything was officially agreed.

My understanding is we have Markram for the full season with Rahane covering his absence

Forgot that Tahir is Surrey's 2nd overseas player this season.

Fakhar has signed for Glamorgan, as a replacement for the injured S Marsh.

Glamorgan needed that final over. Fantastic start from their openers, heading for 200, but then scored about 10 runs in 5 overs and suddenly 160 wasn't even guaranteed. Enter Colin Ingram.

From 18 off 22 to 50 off 28. Ingram loves Sophia Gardens.

Not quite enough runs to play with for ABDV to get a debut 100.
