Caught my first game of the season today - break up from school tomorrow which means I will either watch many many more or will be in a coma until 10AM most days.

Sydney Thunder won their second match on the trot. Alex Hales was the star man with 68 runs to help Sydney reach their target of 170 in the final over.

Astonishing collapse by the Sixers from 52/1 to 64/8.

3 wickets in 4 balls for the young leggie Qais Ahmad. He finished with 4-12!

Durham-esque. I watched my boys do that in game after game during this year's Vitality Dribble

Strikers v Thunder at Canberra: smoke stopped play.

Might be a recurring theme this summer, sadly.

looks as though today's match between Strikers and Stars has been a belter. Decent total set, chase drifting until Slapsie grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck... raining sixes. Gets out too early for Stars to win, only for NCN to come out and start flogging 4's and sixes to cow corner. 12 needed off the last over, which seemed probable rather than possible, only for Banana man to hold his nerve and secure a 4 run win for Adelaide

Sydney Thunders have started well against Sydney Sixers with a blistering start by Alex Hales.

40/0 from 4.

Odd decision to not bowl Abbott until the 6th over. He is Sixers best bowler, I think, and he took a wicket with his first legal delivery

Do they always do this, I wonder? He has certainly put the brakes on immediately......... and now Hales falls to Sixers second best bowler with the first ball of his second over

Both openers, Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales dismissed. Sixer's getting back into the game.

I remember he opened bowling for Sixer's in last BBL.

116/7. Waste of good start provides by Alex. Now even 145 looks very tough.
