Caught some of this today. With 38 teams all playing at the same time in three pools.

Saw Assam beat Hyderabad in Group B. It was a tight run thing. Assam put on 159-5 and Hyderabad went into the final over needing 11 runs, having got 18 off the penultimate over. Pritam Das, who was excellent all day, got a wicket and limited Hyderabad to 8 to seal the win.

This rumbles on. So difficult to keep up with. The international boys do look a class apart though. Rahul Chahar got 5-14 today for Rajasthan against
Madhya Pradesh to claim their first win of the season. He got all four of his five wickets in the space of 5 balls spanning 2 overs.

The groups are topped by Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Delhi and Bihar.

Kerala's Mohammed Azharuddeen tops the run scoring league with Arzan Nagwaswalla of Gujarat's 8 @ 4.75 the best in terms of wickets.

Saw two big scoring games today.....well....three big scoring teams.

First Kerala topped Delhi's first innings score of 212 with 6 balls left to spare. Seasoned hand Robin Uthappa contirbuted a 54 ball 91 to overhaul the 9th highest total of the season so far with the 6th highest total.

In the afternoon game, Avi Barot got the third highest score of the tournament. His 122 came off a mere 53 balls and took Saurashtra to 215-5. Goa tried to do a Kerala and beat it but failed spectacularly and were all out 90 runs in arrears in 18.4 overs. Barot is in good form having got 93 off 44 on Wednesday.

The groups are topped by Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Baroda, Rajasthan, Kerala and Bihar.

The aforementioned Ali Barot tops the run scoring league with 239. A fourfer for Bengal's Ishan Porel yesterday sees him on 11 - the highest of anyone in the tournament.

Jharkhand Vs Odisha was my game of the day.

It was a relatively low scoring affair by yesterday's standards. Jharkand put on a relatively meagre looking 182 but sublime bowling from Bal Krishna meant that Odisha were all out for just 128. A very poor batting performance from the East Indian side.

There has been one change at the top of the table as Saurashtra have gone top of Group D, replacing Rajasthan.

There was also a change at the top of the run scoring table with Prabhsimran Singh's 73 for Punjab today taking him to the summit.

Despite 66 from Nitish Rana, Delhi saw their total of 182 easily overturned by Haryana who went top of the table. They only needed 18 overs to beat Delhi who are now down to third.

Haryana join Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Baroda, Saurashtra and Bihar at the top of their tables.

The league stage of this is done and....for the life of me I cannot find anywhere who has progressed.

All I know is:

Rajasthan beat Saurashtra today thanks to 67 from Ashok Menaria. Rajasthan's total was only 165 but Saurashtra fell 15 runs short thanks to a strong bowling display.

The final tables saw Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Baroda, Rajasthan Haryana and Bihar top.

Tamil Nadu's Jagadeesan ends top of the run scoring league with 315 whilst Bihar's Ashutosh Aman got 14 wickets @ 6.5 to top the wicket taking standings.

The hardest T20 competition to follow is back with it's 2021 edition beginning.

One name that popped out to me was Himanshu Rana who last I saw was in the Under 19 World Cup squad back in 2018....well he's now all grown up and bagged his highest T20 score to date. His 87* helped Haryana pull off a chase of 145 off against Himachel Pradesh.

In the Plate Group (the lower echelons) Arunachal trundled their way to an unlikely looking score of 69-9 in what was a very bizarre chase of 163. You feel that Darshan Nalkande's 5-9 was rather flattering.

Hyderabad are playing a bit of a blinder in this competition and are just one of three teams to have won all 5 of their allocated games. They have also done this in considerable style in what has been a real team effort. Chama Milind is something of a SMAT superstar – however never managed to transfer to the IPL. He is doing it again this year with 16 wickets – two more than anyone else. Tanmay Agarwal (another IPL reject) is doing the business with the bat too with his 302 runs being the highest amount of runs in the tournament.

Hyderabad join Maharashtra, Bengal, Gujarat and Vidarbha at the top of their respective tables.

Despite needing 22 off the last 7 balls, Tamil Nadu managed to pull off a record breaking third win in this trophy.

Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore was particularly impressive with 3-13 taking his tally to 10. He must be quite close to an IPL deal by now you'd think.

This sprawling behemoth of a continue is 4 rounds….or 72 matches old.

It really is a challenge to figure out what the heck is going on but….let’s give it a whirl.

The most impressive team so far is Mumbai who have played 4 and won 4, whilst Saurashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bengal and Andhra have won all their games that were not abandoned due to weather.

In Group E, last year’s winners Tamil Nadu aren’t having the run of the green this time out though – as they sit in 4th place of their group having won 2 and lost 2. This group also saw one of the most one-sided wins of the tournament in the tournament so far as top faced bottom. Sikkim won the toss and elected to bat….and would have immediately come to rue that decision after being 12-4 after 5 overs, 36-7 after 10 and eventually being 52 all out. Chattisgarh chased it down with 83 balls remaining.

In these tournaments you usually see an established player who makes lightwork of the dubious quality of bowling attacks – and this time out it is Prithvi Shaw. The Indian wunderkind is largely riding on the coat tails of an impressive 134 in Mumbai’s victory against Assam on Friday. Overall he has 237 runs at an average of 79.

Madhya Pradesh are 5th of 8 in Group A but their bowler, Venkatesh Iyer boasts the best figures of 6-20 in their win against Rajasthan. You suspect that that record might hold. Rahul Tewatia of top ranked Haryana currently has the most wickets with 11 @ 5.27 across his 4 games.

Matches continue all over the place, all the time until the 5th November.
