Somerset's Will Smeed started the PSL in fine form, despite the fact that his Quetta team ended up the losere yesterday evening.

He got a terrific 97 on debut as part of a huge 155 run opening partnership for Quetta. They ended their 20 on 190-4. Peshawar held off a middle over slump to squeak to the win with 2 balls remaining to claim their first win of the season.

Multan beat Karachi in yesterday's opening game thanks to figures of 3-16 from Imran Tahir.
