He's signed for Durham pretty much as a T20 specialist, but is allowed to train by himself outside of the Blast season, negating the need to move North. It seems like an odd arrangement, but there's no doubt it's working for both parties. 9 wickets for him at very little with an econ rate of not a lot and Durham with 3 wins out of 4. We only won 3 T20 matches in the whole of last season. We can still be pretty shambolic, particularly with ball in hand, but Sowter gives us 4 middle overs that only go for about 18 runs, which is unheard of for us. It means we don't have to score 200 runs every match just to have an outside chance of the win.
