4 wickets for Ravi Bopara. Looking to be a good signing so far.

Slow start for the mighty essex eagles, finally registered a win last night but there's been some iffy captaincy from Harmer, was also suprised to see Elgar make it in to the side too but he has hit some early runs in the comp so fair play to him

I'll be interested to see what happens to Middlesex tonight
Last night DLS screwed them by setting 80 off 6 overs, after the first innings had to be cut short because of rain
fast forward 24 hours and Middlesex are batting first, have already had 2 overs chopped off their innings and are now off again. Will DLS set Hants a greater than 13 an over target if they get back out tonight?
DLS has always seemed to me to be useless for T20, but maybe that's because my teams always seem to get shafted by it

meanwhile Notts get their first win of the campaign courtesy of DLS setting them a 15 over target that equated to less than the run rate achieved by Worcs over 20 overs in their innings

then Derby get given an 18 over target that is only 3 runs less than if they'd had the full 20 overs
I can't work any of it out. It seems like a nonsense to me.... it always has

apologies... Derbys have a 19 over target
an over takes about 3 minutes.... what's the point of reducing the chase at all?

Middlesex/Hants no result
I should have mentioned that last night, not only were Middlesex asked to score at over 13 an over from a standing start, when Essex had scored at 10 an over (I know that they expected to have 7 more overs available to them, but they'd also had a chance to play themselves in a bit) but Essex were able to bowl 2 bowlers for 2 overs each.... that also makes no sense, because 20 overs requires 5 bowlers minimum, so why were Essex allowed to only use 4 bowlers in a 6 over innings?
I think they just make the rules up as they go along

somerset have bowled 2 bowlers for the first 4 of a 5 over match, so they must have changed the rules to allow it
stupid change

Was looking at Lancs last game as I wondered where Buttler would fit in.
Salt Wells Jennings Livingstone Hurst Dockrell Croft Green Hartley Wood Mahmood. 6 spin and 2 fast bowlers.. no wonder we lost to N'hants. Breetzke 76 (31). I suppose Buttler will come in for Green. Two fast bowlers won't work
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/t20 ... -scorecardJust had a thought Anderson could be another fast bowler

Well Sussex v Lancs was a disaster for Lancs. They couldn't even bat out 20 overs. Only two batsmen getting to double figures and only able to get two wickets. Don't see how Benkenstein and Chilton can keep their jobs.
Now hear Salt is going to captain T20s in Buttler's absence. Curran has more captaincy experience in the IPL but just what you want, a wicket-keeper captain. Will he be running up to the bowlers telling them what he wants?

Gloucs beat Warks. So it's a battle or the southern counties
