Yep this was shocking decision, and could have meant a 3-0 to Newcastle.

A good side with lots of confidence after a series of strong results, wins that match easily and probably gets the rub of the green on the way. A poor side with little quality, little confidence and on a the back of a dreadful run of results, tightens up, maybe goes too defensive, gets the poor decisions, begins to panic and loses the game

Ultimately, over a series of matches, teams usually get what they deserve.

and, of course, this is the history of the fat lad's tenure. Trouser the profit and trouser the TV money. Spend as little as humanly possible in the summer and see how the season goes. If it doesn't go well, buy players in January and hope it's enough to avoid the drop. This is his 11th year as owner and this approach has been very successful for him....made him a lot of money (enough this year to allow him to buy a massive department store chain at a knock down price with just the TV money).

From a footballing perspective, this approach has worked once in 11 years. Not surprising that the fans are unhappy. One of these days the side won't bounce back straight away after relegation, and then he won't have a cash cow to milk............ and, of course, there won't be anyone prepared to give him what he wants to let the club go, and so he'll be stuck with the club and we'll be stuck with him

He'll spend big in January.... hope that it will be enough to persuade Rafa to stay... and hope that it will be enough to stave off relegation.... again!

Then he sticks up two fingers at the fans who protest at him, but does it in a way that he can claim was just him scratching behind his ear.... it's the sort of thing a naughty schoolboy would do.... and it's pathetic, but then this is a man who likes to have a power alcoholic binge off and vomit, to sort out the men from the boys, so we probably shouldn't expect anything else.

One day he'll be gone, but as long as he keeps making vast sums of money out of the club, it'll be a while

in the meantime, I just don't bother with football, other than checking the results from time to time

Didn't totally play out like that.

Should have been at least 3-0 up at half time, and had a penalty, which wasn't given not because of any lack of good fortune for Newcastle but simply because the ref wasn't watching the ball. Had his eyes firmly fixed on any skirmishes in the box.

Second half Newcastle were pretty comfortable and not overly defensive. But a poor tackle on the edge of the box in the seventieth minute led to a free kick and goal. Then the panic set in a bit as it would do for most sides in a similar position when Man Utd suddenly get a sniff at Old Trafford. Thing is even at 2-2 they had a fantastic chance to go 3-2.

Overall the Newcastle performance was very decent and didn't suggest a side in crisis. Think they need a couple of quality players in January, but they've got a better bunch of players than a number of sides in the premier.

Ashley was at the game, his third in a row after going 18 months without going to a single game. He took everyone out for Pizza during the week so he is clearly trying to build bridges!!!! Obviously his burnt all the ones with the fans who abused him throughout the game yesterday.

Rudiger puts Chelsea one up.

Martial finds the equaliser!

Martial again 2-1!

Barkley scores in Fergie time 2-2!

Interesting end to the game where someone from the Chelsea camp said or gesticulated something towards Mourinho when the Barkley goal went in. Mourinho reacted explosively and jumped up off his seat to confront the Chelsea guy, and if it hadn't been for stewards probably would have gone for him.

Mourinho has done some similar wild celebrating in the past so probably doesn't deserve much sympathy, but I hate all that baiting the opposition after you score, totally unnecessary, have some respect.

Does Jose the eye gouger deserve respect in that instance? I hate boasting or baiting or whatever, but Mourinho is the king of it.

I'm talking about baiting and respect in general.

Mourinho has been guilty in the past, and I am not his greatest fan these days, but don't stoop to his level. The "feck off Mourinho" chant from the Chelsea fans was ridiculous as well". I thought sticking 3 fingers up was a pretty reasonable comeback in the circumstances.

On the other hand I hate all the crap from players with the quiet finger to the mouth to opposition fans after they score, just get on with it. You're paid a ton of cash so deal with some taunting from the crowd. The ref gets slated all game, gets paid a fraction of what the players do, but he doesn't react to the crowd.

That chant from the fans is very funny considering the success Jose has had with Chelsea. Claudia Raneri gets a good welcome every time he goes back but won now where near as much. Maybe Jose has burnt his bridges, or maybe the fans will think the good times will never end.

They seem to be forgetting that their money laundering owner has no use for them now and will be ditching them as soon as a good offer comes in.

Liverpool get an important three points against Huddersfield Town. They had to work hard for them though.

When he left first time around 100% of Chelsea fans would have held him as a legend.

Since he left second time around, relations have soured to the point where alot of fans despise him. Some simply because he went to Man U others because of the subtle and not so subtle digs he has made about the club and the fans.
