I've had this feeling all week that Newcastle end up in 7th place behind Chelsea and then Man Utd pull off the most unlikely of FA cup wins and Newcastle miss out on Europe next year

Arsenal beat Man Utd, which is good news for Newcastle. Wednesday is the next big moment. As long as Newcastle don't lose, then they will at least finish 7th. Then it will be the first FA Cup final that has even remotely interested me this century

Whoever is on VAR tonight needs to be sacked. The clearest penalty you will ever see for a foul on Gordon, Amrabat just stamped on his ankle, and its not like it wasnt obvious because the camera next shot focused on the gash in Gordon's sock and the mark on his ankle Amrabat's stud had left.

just noticed that Brighton's last 3 games of the campaign were/are Newcastle, Chelsea and Man Utd, so they will be the influential side in the fight for European places

Meanwhile Newcastle have to beat the curse of the ex striker on Sunday (the last one scored a hat trick against us) to stay in the race until the FA cup final

The timing feels very odd to me. They play Man Utd tomorrow with European football next season on the line, Man Utd will soon be looking for a new manager. De Zerbi might well be a candidate for that........ hmmm!
