He seems to be very troubled. He was a pedestrian when he was hit be the lorry, speculation is that he may have tried to take his own life - something he has attempted the past. Hope he gets the help he needs when he recovers.

Whether a bout of depression led him to commit the drink driving offence or whether the latter caused the former, and the lack of information on the nature of his collision with the lorry, as you say it does sound like another suicide attempt, poor sod.

a few years ago me and a couple of mates got a tour of ibrox by Graeme sounness when he was manager , he spent a couple of hours with us and showed us all around the stadium , including the changing rooms and boot room. one of the guys I was with asked him where his boots were and I said "they are the ones with the bloodstains on them"
