:? There's no way calling someone a "black *modded*" isn't racism, to call it name calling is ridiculous tbh. *modded* itself is an insult then adding black to that in this context is of course racist, what else could it be?

We know why this is taking time because he's the England captain. Any other player would have be banned straight away.

The papers are laying in to Blatter this morning and rightly so.

Sadly he will just shrug his shoulders and say "Crisis? What crisis?".

The man has totally lost it.

sorry but still gonna disagree

racism is about discrimination and name calling in the heat of the moment isn't the same thing imo

if john terry went out of his way to single out ferdinand then that would perhaps be racism

But he's targeted Anton through being black, the moment you do that, it's discriminatory.

I've said plenty of things in the heat of the moment when I use to play Football, although nothing racist and that is the truth but I can understand a player coming out with such a remark, although I don't condone it.
Best thing Terry could have done was to admit it (if he did say it) and apologise straight away.

he didn't target him tho , he was involved in an altercation with him which resulted in name calling

if he had been involved in the same sort of altercation with joey barton he would probbaly have called him a scouse b*****d , is that still racism or is it name calling ?

Sorry, that's way off. He targeted Anton for belonging to a race, it's nothing but discrimination. He looked for Anton's "weak point" and used it in the insult. To call it name calling is still ridiculous.

And scouse modded isn't attacking someone's skin colour but it is still also discrimination.

I'm with ddb on this one....

If you call someone a jerk, it's an insult. If you call someone a white jerk, you are degrading the race of person involved in the insult, and that's racism....

Terry and Suarez need to be investigated fully on these charges....

Im with Rich on this, I dont think 1 comment in the heat of the moment defines someone as a racist.

I played a game once against a team full of black players, who gave nothing but racial abuse to me, all within earshot of the referee who did nothing. Now if I had of been making racist remarks, do you think I would of gone unpunished ??

The racism rules/laws are messed up as it is, white people abusing black people is racist and wrong, whilst black people abusing white people is "banter" and should be ignored ?

No, it doesnt define hin as a racist - but hes made a racist comment and he should be punished for it.

You cant have heat of the moment as a defence. It's unworkable.

I agree that he should be fined but I'm with you, this doesn't mean he is a racist and that's what a lot of people will think.
He may be an egotistic prat but hey, there's a few of them around.
