Something about wanting to play in the centre.

Looks liek Arsenal might be shedding a few players this transfer market.

It's like Arsenal have decided to set up a car boot sale for the weekend, but in their excitement of clearing out their junk, they've included all their furniture and white goods by mistake too.

They're going to walk in on Friday, and they'll be nothing left (and not just because of international duty!).

So Chealski have bid for Ox, Berkley and Drinkwater.

So why did they sell Chalobah and loan out Loftus Cheek?

They seem determined to not trust in any of their youth players it seems.

The state of football transfers can not be shown better by Swanseas attempts to sign Nelson Oliviera from Norwich.

He was loaned to Swansea three yers ago, played only 10 games and didnt score, and has since scored 9 and 11 in consecutive full seasons in the Championship

Swansea have had a 12 million bid rejected and are set to increase to 15 mill!!

Ridiculous.

Oliviera played for Forest and looked a cut above. Certainly at the time too good for the players around him. Was he kept out of Swanseas team by Michu and the style of play?

I also wonder at present if agents have a lot to do with these moves. The more moves maximises income for players and agents. The clubs interest are secondary to many players and agents. Never mind the supporters that they are milking the money from.

Absolutely. Lots of my fellow Saints fans would only accept Virgil leaving us for Madrid or Barca - for the simple reason that he really is that good. But no agent is going to go along with that. Why only get your player that one big move, when you can get them two (and therefore two pay-days for yourself)? Get Virgil a move to a Liverpool first, and then a couple of years later get him that move to a Barca.

Even moving to City or Chelsea might have risked no future onward move. Liverpool would have a perfect move for Virgil's agent. (His only problem, is us!)

deadline transfer day and the top 7 stories on the BBC Newcastle Utd page involve Mitrovic's suspension, a golf course spat for Mike Ashley, the WH match report, 3 players leaving the club and 1 that they hope to offload.

Apparently 13 PL clubs have smashed their transfer spending records and I'm debating whether or not to have a little giggle and take a peek at which teams have, just so I can pretend to be surprised when I discover that Newcastle ain't one of them.

Swansea in the end sign Renato Sanches, a player who I believe only 12 months ago was signing for Bayern at 65 million. Guess they want him to get a full yer of football as he is only 19/20.....

Could be a hell of a signing

Newcastle managed to offload a player on deadline day, so thank goodness for that. For a little while I was concerned that they might do something daft like try to strengthen a championship squad and turn it into a premiership one.

Only Newcastle would try to sell a striker valued at £20M, that they deemed unfit for the premiership to a championship club, and replace him with a striker worth £5M who apparently is premiership material :stupid

no wonder Rafa will leave as soon as he is able

They were hoping to bring in 3 players before the window shut, and secured none of them. Working for Newcastle Utd must be like banging your head against brick wall
