Sterling hasn't done much for England, unlike Welbeck, who despite his faults scored a few in the qualifiers. Then you have Sturridge, Rooney, Vardy, and Kane.

Will he take all six?

I can't see Rashford going because of the names mentioned. Too much competition.

Hopefully, Shaw will be fit. Best choice if available. I guess Walker starts as the right back?

I haven't followed a lot of PL this season to be honest. Sterling used to be pretty good in 2014. Agreed that he has disappointed for England. I'd go with Kane, Vardy, Sturridge and a toss up between the rest. Even if Rooney is in the squad, him starting just because he is captain is ridiculous. What on earth does a captain do in Football anyway?

Apart from being widely accepted as the best player at England's last world cup, Sterling was also the top English assist maker in qualification.

Hardly nothing for a lad of 19-21 years of age.

As for Shaw, he might be a starter when fit, but to deny Rose a place after an excellent season because you want to play a bloke that wont get 90 minutes in for a whole year before the tournament would be too much of a leap of faith. No point taking Rashford either, too many people above him in the list that he would never get on the field anyway.

England's big question is who to play alongside Eric Dier in the CM position now Henderson has gone.

Huh? By you? Not by me he wasn't, or anybody else I know.

By memory the BBC, Guardian, Independant all had him at least ranked top. The bloke from the Daily Mail gave him second after Rooney, but he clearly didnt watch any of the games. He was named man of the match in literally every paper after the Italy game.

Barkley?

Not for me, certainly not the player to play in central CM position, if anything you play him behind the striker.

Wilshere played for Arsenal U21's at the weekend, but I believe its been widely reported at one point he was rolling around holding his knee, and he might have got reinjured.

Wilshere will never be fit again, like ever.
