By memory the BBC, Guardian, Independant all had him at least ranked top. The bloke from the Daily Mail gave him second after Rooney, but he clearly didnt watch any of the games. He was named man of the match in literally every paper after the Italy game.

I don't rate him that highly, though he is young and his Football brain will improve. Mark Lawrenson said something along the lines of he'll never be a good footballer, which was a bit strong but I can see his point.

Actually, I think he said he was one of the most exciting prospects he had ever seen, but then Sterling mugged off Liverpool by refusing to essentially play for them this season and suddenly Lawrenson spent half the start of spring writing derogatory and pretty biased propaganda about how much of an immature idiot he was.

Probably not the most balanced and honest of sources.

Just play the whole Spurs team. Some of the non English players must be able to get dual nationality due to being resident in this country for a certain length of time.
